aha tom that's one thing I defonatly don't miss at all. plus wax is easier to apply in a room temperature garage rather than in the freezing cold.

Woah, havn't posted in here for a while, looking very shiny, it's not until you go round your car with a tooth comb you notice so many inperfections.

Shame about all your miss-fire problems, i had the same trouble, went round checking pretty much everything, pull the plugs out on each cylinder and assuming they were all fine changed every sensor possible, double checked with some new plugs like two hours later, and it was them, lol. Sucha pain doing trial and error, i hope Spoox, sort you out though.

LEE_VTR1 3rd March 2010 22:57

Promising update...

Right then guys as you know my 16v engines been suspect since day one well the car went to spoox and after alot of £££££ being spent nothing seemed to be wrong, so in a rather pissed off state went and fetched the car had a few words to say and took the car home.

now after checking the car over and thinking about the stuff spoox have said like the inlet mani pressure being insanely high and the the compression being 250psi per cyclinder but everything like cam timing, spark plug gaps, the lot was all giving back perfect readings, they said its like the exhaust is blocked as thats usually symptoms of high inlet pressure etc then my mind suddenly clicked.......

THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD!!!!

so whipped it off today as i remember the ports from mani to head were shit inside and too my surprise i was correct in my thinking with them being how they are they will be restricting gas flow the head causing back like a motherfucker and pressuring the head basicly causing sensors to go awohl and think theres something mega fucked, now im hoping after spending all night swapping manifolds over that when i start the car tomorrow and go for a drive the standard 16v exhaust manifold has fixed my issue if it has ill be mega pissed off and also very happy at the same time, on the plus side the engines got all new sensors and i know everything is healthy as its been checked over completely.

heres how the exhaust ports look bearing in the mind the exhaust ports in the head are oval holes aha enjoy...

as you can see the exhaust branches are built very well into the manifold :n: but hopefully i can get hold of another 4 branch or take this one to work and modify it slightly so the gases flow out the head better :)

ill have more productive reports to give you guys tomorrow but thats all for now.

raunchz 3rd March 2010 23:01

what 4 branch is that !? Piper 4-1 ?!

It looks a shite fit to the head ports !!

Can't believe it's this if that is the problem - the wiring sounds spot on after all !

I'd get a new manifold tbh - a nice stainless 4-1 :P

J222JRA 3rd March 2010 23:01

fingers crossed for you Lea

willsy 3rd March 2010 23:03

Fingers crossed mate!!!! this bitch needs to work!

If it works i think as a celebratory win a new mani is in order :)

makaveli144 3rd March 2010 23:04

Yea what brand is that? The ports dont match up at all.

raunchz 3rd March 2010 23:06

Pro-tech

Get a nice gmc 4-1 stainless manifold on there and it will fly!

webby 3rd March 2010 23:09

protech mani? i feel quite bad for you man if this was the problem all along but glad it may be sorted.

Liam_ 3rd March 2010 23:12

Looks like you've found your issue mate - did stevie wonder make that flange plate? ;)

Lob a Raceland on there imo - good value for money. The standard mani is actually okay, just weighs a tonne.
