Yep, custom made for my lithium ION battery. If you want to get it done in 2015 you better get booked in now, they are busy people! :y:

jpsaxo 25th March 2014 00:34

haha Oli :D You wish son ;)

Yes Jack im from the UK, my family still live in the UK and my dads / brother help me sort the car during the winter months so when im back in the UK in the summer I can use the car :D

Jack-Cooley 25th March 2014 00:49

Back where? Where does the car live UK or AUS? Im a little lost

Alanapone 25th March 2014 06:50

Car lives in the UK with Josh's family here, Josh lives in Oz and comes back every now and again to beast around in the car.

You comeing to TRAX this year JP?

jpsaxo 25th March 2014 07:47

UK Jack mate. They don't have saxo's over here. Only v8's... Fuel is half the price!!

Oh and to answer your previous question about getting it here (if I wanted to bring it here with me) I've already looked into that, it's only about £1000 each way on the ferry in a container. Takes a couple of months. Genuinely considering bringing it out here for 2015 :)

I don't think the v8's would know what hit them hearing a flat 4 smashing them in the corners AND down the straights lol. It would be worth the £2,000 return trip just to see there faces at track days, or club days as they call them here.

What date is it Alan? I'll be there if it's on while I'm back 'home' (home will ALWAYS be the UK)

I've got 6 weeks off this year (whoop!) from 12th July - 24th of August

Jack-Cooley 25th March 2014 08:03

Beaniesport do some nice work! Would always take mine there for extensive stuff

Trax is normally in september

I KNEW you would get the rear setup... And you tried to throw me off the scent lol. So those engine mounts plus the rebuilt scuttle... Does that mean the engine will be lowered and canted to get more airspace for the boddies?

As for trax, I can't remember off the top of my head. Will check in a bit.

Jack-Cooley 25th March 2014 08:54

Some moneys worth, rich over on the oc has just bought the front and rear without the welding work ect.. and thats 3k...

Satchell engineering fitting the front & rear kit + scuttle, engine mounts, battery box etc etc

Beaniesport are spraying & putting in custom brake lines with a brake bias valve, as the massive (awesome!) travel on the new suspension set up makes the standard brake lines un-workable :)

Yeah Trax is normally the last weekend in August or first weekend in September

Hahaha :) you should know me better than to do a half job Alan :)

I can't say about the engine mounts just yet, I'll show you this picture and you can make up your own conclusions...

And that's not including the front & rear dampers, fitting, the BE shafts, the battery box, the engine mounts? And lots of other bits and bobs

Alanapone 25th March 2014 09:31

;) :y:

I see... Very neat work. Looking forward to seeing it all completed!

welshpug 25th March 2014 11:21

That bulkhead mod looks interesting, has it an added rearwards bulge?

Always wondered if something like that could be done, kind of like an airbox but not quite.

deano_123 25th March 2014 11:27

has anyone got some indepth info/ reading material on the satchel suspension setup? is it a relatively new design or has it been proven through testing/ track work?

just generally interested really, as obviously somebody has put a great of time and effort into coming up with it

welshpug 25th March 2014 11:59

Its a fully tested setup with a lot of Colin's experience and design gone into it, properly tested by Satchell test pilot Cyber.

They wouldn't have released it for sale if it wasn't a finished product :y:

The Saxo Rallycar I service for is also down there at the moment having a wide version of the setup.

Hi, this is Dean(cyb3r)

As welshpug says a lot of design on strength has gone into this kit, its is all designed on CAD.

When we first fitted this to my car I have used it both on the road and hard on track hitting every possible curb on the track possible and as fast as needed. This kit is also on a few rally cars which have hit pits hard enough to wrote off wheels and the suspension hasn't been affected in anyway.

My car before having this kit I could do Llandow in about 54 secs. After with all the suspension and obviously have the corrections for the bump steer, camber etc.

We did Llandow testing(videos on YouTube) then we were lapping in 45.9seconds.

Anything more you need to know just post here and I will try and answer best as possible.

deano_123 25th March 2014 13:30

this setup alone took nearly 9 seconds off your lap times?!?!?

do you have pictures of a completed front setup and further pictures of the rear? what spring rates are used or are these interchangable? have you modified the camber/ track width?

Prickle 25th March 2014 14:45

Looks awesome. Ahh

Alanapone 25th March 2014 16:10

+1, their is loads of info and pics on a few progress threads on rallye register. It is a relatively new setup for release but has obviously been around for a while during testing. The videos on YouTube are pretty awesome to watch as well.

hard_corejoeboy 25th March 2014 16:44

Im kind of lost on whats being done here? Basically a new suspension setup front and rear? At a cost of? Very expensive or JP expensive (if he wants he buys)

AlexFocusST 25th March 2014 17:51

i was sure you weren't going only for the front kit !!!
can we have more detailed photos of the scuttle cut???

Bedford126 25th March 2014 19:49

Josh, can you give me a pm when you get time mate, about the bloke who did your engine bay the last time around...

welshpug 25th March 2014 20:47

have a look at the satchell engineering page on FB.

I watched them testing it from a live stream off Dave's phone all the way to Australia lol

8 seconds yep, the way Dean's car came past me at castle combe was unbelievable... and i had approx 70bhp more, caught up on the straights, but i was no where near him in the corners - that sold me on how epic this kit is :y:

Track width is optional, spring rates are entirely up to you - Colin can spec up depending on the purpose of application

You get confused far too easy Joe. New front + rear suspension set up and lots, lots more. Look at the pictures....

rey 26th March 2014 10:14

Man this just get's better and better!

I remember reading your first engine build thread as you were going along and thinking that was epic, this however... Just awesome.

hard_corejoeboy 26th March 2014 13:36

That 8 seconds thing...surely that can't all be found just from this kit? I mean teams employ all sorts of crazy stuff and aero to shave off a second or two but 8? Really? Don't wana sound like a hater or doubter here for the sake of it but thats either BS or I haven't looked I to exactly what this kit does....

im sure its probably more like 8 seconds on a rally stage, on tarmac round brands 8 seconds would mean i could overtake a btcc car... :panic: without a doubt it is a fanstsic peice of kit and i personally would be there legs in line with my ears to get one if my series would let me run it...

Nope, pretty sure that's a track.

Teams spend crazy money shaving seconds off lap times on cars that are already purposely designed to race.

Turning a hot hatch into a race car is different, which is why massive improvements can be made.
I use the term race car loosely!

I remember first seeing pictures of this car under a tent made of ladders getting painted. It's come a long way since then but as others have said it was still epic back then! :y:

Awesome car.

You clearly need to study more ;)

I would look into FWD tuning, Colin is not someone to BS to sell products, not in his interest to do that. Colin doesn't just make this stuff, he uses it on his own race cars.
