Please just read the thread... it's obvious the saxo speedo is out throughout the range when my dial reads 60mph a satnav will read 55mph etc. you are not doing the speed you think you are.
Yes the 1.1 is nippy, but going over 20mph in first and you are doing serious damage to the engine.. some of you seem to be changing gear too late and will end up with no engine if you continue :err:
A 1.1 will struggle to reach 103mph anywho and with standard 1.1 brakes I hope to god you can stop if something comes out in front of you.

Well 117MPH is fucking fast for a 1.1. (only went for about a mile) No, i never hit the limiter BUT car shock like made (little 13" wheels). I turned the radio down and car was almost going to explode. I didn't have a rev counter at the time but i guess VERY CLOSE to red lining it which is catastrophic failure. Never again at those speeds in such a small car. dose it no good.
I found Sat Navs are out. The signal has to go From sat nav, to satalite back to sat nav and takes a second to do so (millions of miles away) so i'll guess the signal will be a second time delay.
BTW, Breaking at such speeds is scary, the back end all goes wobbely :panic:
Can we get back on Topic now please (Although i'm not bothered about making it faster now)
