Sophia_Bush 27th December 2008 16:40

new suspension now on handles alot better and steering is more positive, altho rear beam was properly seized altho mass hammer bashing by lee and blobby. So another go during the week at that, brakes need more caliper bolts and putting back together then they can go on to.

ax gti alloys going on during the week to, picking 16v up tommorow:D

rootyboy 27th December 2008 17:02

dont know if you want insparation but chek out my ax project thread or hes a couple of pics as a teaser and i really like that on the steels as well

Sophia_Bush 27th December 2008 17:05

saw yours at dt few years back brian sounded nice when savalon had a go in it, shame that moose put it on its roof tho mate real shame.

Steelies are going mainly because tyres are scrap on them and I am getting some oe ax gti alloys with better rubber on more stealth

rootyboy 27th December 2008 17:08

really lol, where you there lol, what car did you have that day

Sophia_Bush 27th December 2008 17:13

erm to be honest I was probably in one of my 106s either quiksilver a diablo red gti or a blue flat arch ax cant remember lol

rootyboy 27th December 2008 17:15

i cant remember that much of dt, apart from the 4 hour drive in a tin can with 1 seat

Sophia_Bush 27th December 2008 17:20

haha yeah oh well should be ok 16v end of january :D

Just looked at your thread yours rusted in same places mine did but not that bad has had everything done so all nice and solid

Sophia_Bush 27th December 2008 22:57

wheels off, struts off in prep for new springs and bilsteins

one of the completed struts

The utterly gay twat bag rear beam which was seized solid no matter how much hammer time it did not budge even with lube.

Good thing the front shocks were done pretty sure the woman last guy got the gti off knew the shockers were boned, not leaking but no response in them the rod just dropped when taken out didnt come back up, plus rear beam had been in parts before last guy got it aswell ecentric washers missing so part reason why its probably rusted up like the titanic.

So plan of attack is take it back to lees in week to try and get it done, possibly swap the wheels over. Also need to order stuff to rebuild the 16v engine.

But parts in possession pre converted 16v ax loom, 106 gti engine complete, locked ecu oe 421 manifold. Thats about it lads and lasses, got cheap cams to as you know

rootyboy 28th December 2008 13:06

Dont give up with the rear bar, when i lowered mine for the second time it took us, 4 men 90million cups of tea a lump hammer and 8 hours but it came out lol

Sophia_Bush 28th December 2008 14:08

well another short update went to warrington and got the 16v engine and associated bits this morning and dropped it all off at the garage, so case of Lee sorts rebuild bits, gets head sent off for skim, get head back, bosh back together, get in car job done:D\
