Cool, thanks - I'll give mine a go. Will fit my bonnect pins too whilst I'm doing it.
Im stuck between leaving it subtle and oem at the minute, or going full on track with pins, stripped etc.

Not a fan of bonnet raisers, but in the case with bodies they serve a valid purpose.

Good to see it's coming on well

I'm going to end up stripping mine to shed some weight to make it more lively!!

I think mine will end up as a weekend toy - yours a daily driver? Mine is at the moment, the noise on the motorway is almost unbearable!!

makaveli144 4th July 2009 20:57

It's not a daily,I use it mainly at weekends.but not for going to work or anything like that. Mine isn't too bad on the motorway tbh, aslongas you hold the revs steady.give it a prod of the loud pedal though and it's a whole different story.

Looks mean bud - very nice indeed. Only thing I'd look at doing is chopping some length off the zorst so it sits a bit neater? :)

AndySAXO 5th July 2009 18:59

did you get it mapped?

what did it make?

looking good

matt-391-vtr 5th July 2009 21:48

looks freshh mate!

raunchz 5th July 2009 21:49

I fitted my bonnet raisers today, and it must be letting loads more air in as the car now has huge flat spots - especially from 3-5k!!

Didn't think it'd make such a difference, need to get it on the rollers now!!

I couldnt really tell the difference when I raised mine.My power curve is very smooth,no flat spots but mine was mapped on the rollers.

Was yours road mapped?

AndySAXO 9th July 2009 20:24

what power did it make?

got an picture of the curves?

Mine was road mapped, but going to get in on the rollers and the map tweaked this summer.

What figures you get?

If I could get anything around 160bhp with a nice curve I'd be happy !

makaveli144 9th July 2009 20:47

157.7bhp@7644rpm, Im hoping changing the timing on the cams will help the power. Its thought the timing is out and swinging them a bit should improve the power. It was also a very hot day but im just making excuses lol, I wanted it to be higher.

I dont have any pics of the curve, i do have the graph just havent taken a photo of it.

With a nice gearbox, good power curve and some weight shed it'll be rapid !!

I think mine is going to be along those lines of power, am just looking for a lot of midrange - is hard to judge the 'feeling' of power when the TB's are roaring !!!!

Remember you could have it on another set of rollers and have 165bhp+ - take it with a pinch of salt!

The weight shedding is coming;)

I do love the sound of the bodies, especially through tunnels.

Indeed, im looking to try and shed some of my weight too to help things a long !! Tunnels rock !! Just sort of wish I could be outside the car to hear it !!! Got a nice tunnel on the M4 in Wales !!

makaveli144 9th July 2009 20:58

I just wind the windows down , I would love to hear it from the outside.

raunchz 9th July 2009 21:04

Just a quick one - what gearbox you got on this?

Standard VTS box

AndySAXO 9th July 2009 22:07

the figures dont seem that bad the peak power very high, what the rev limiter set to?

have to really rev it some to get round to that dont you, bet you love it though wish i had thorttle bodies now :(

i got a standard vts gearbox on mine at the moment and you can tell that the gearbox is too long for cammed vts as when i change gear i always come out the power!!

so god know what it like with thorttle bodies does it fell ok?

also what was the price for the re map?

andy
