I do this for a living....day in...day out......fucking shoot me now:wall::fcuk:
Just kidding,tbh I love my job,pays the bills anyway. |
My lawn appears to have faired quite well. Its been so wet though that its going to need a good scarifying and a some air holing.
Love a good lawn come summer :D |
Hate my dogs for churning up the lawn but can't be helped.
Will be getting a gardener in the spring to fix it then maintain it. |
Glad this was bumped... I will be sure to only give the lawns 6-8 cuts, less work ftmfw
|
lol last summer when up here we managed to break 15 degrees C for a couple of weeks I was cutting the grass every 3 days to attempt to keep it level!

I think I better reduce the cuts then......maybe I don't know,150+ times is too much. |

I keep my grass about 2 to 3 inches in length, its not used for putting or playing bowls on :P Cant remember exactly, i avoid scalping it to avoid sun damage and even more moss growth. Not sure if thats correct though. |
It all depends on how serious you are about keeping your lawn neat and tidy,I myself just prefer to keep it tidy and don't really worry about it being in tip top condition.
If you're worried about moss you could try feeding it to reduce the moss,improve drainage and give it a light rake every so often(grooming)...... As for the rate of cut its as much as you like,in an ideal world you don't want to take anymore than 1/3 off the grass leaf when you cut,so get to the height you want and stay at that height and cut once a week....... We cut pretty much as much as we can,but during the winter when the weather is as shit as this we can't really get out on the machines so it doesn't get done as much as we'd like to. Just read through the thread..... The stripes you see are caused by the nap of the grass and the light reflecting off it..... Grass rolled away from you will be light and vice versa.......as has been said a roller will give you this but when you cut with a rotary mower you still get this but not as distinct. |
what he said lol.
we stopped first week of december last year, no idea when we'll start again just yet. having said that, we used it mainly for collecting leaves from mid november, beats raking or getting the blower out. |

Coming up to the end of the season lads - surely time to get the "last cut of six" in still though... |
Need to get mine done too, also our rabbit has burrowed down half way across the lawn
