Mine came today, fookin tiny. Might give ti a go on one of the smaller dash compnents before i go hacking away at the dials though

yeah they are small but if u use some tweezers then its not to bad as long as u get a pointed end soldering iron, having a big ended one like mine was a right pain

Yeah ive only got a big jobby, have to see if i can find a cheap one somewhere

yeah i went into a hardware sotere and got one for £3 but he was out of the pointed end ones but said they were the same price

Thats stupid money, cheers again mate will post my results when ive done it. You havent had a crack at the dash ones yet have ya?

not yet as i been to busy but i know the dash one has a bulb not a led so i will have to wire a led with a resister to it instead but i cant remember what the filter is like on the front peice, i will do it when i get time and also do the buttons & cig lighter

alrite steve. I bought my soldering iron from Maplins today but forgot the code for the LEDS so will have to go back tmw lol :P gonna give it a try at the weekend.

klkl get pics up mate, its very hard to capture the true colour of the dials with the leds on with my digital camera so u might have more luck

also mate, which Maplins did you go to? I'll check the Milton Keynes on but can't really be arsed to buy them off ebay :P

your a legend mate, i have had some of these lying around since i got the vts lol just didnt want to take the dash etc apart and fook something up. will have a bash at doing this sometime ;)

it was maplins in oxford, my mate got them for me as he used to work there

i cut my dial faces up to the fuel needle as i was putting plasma ones on so only took the rev needle and speed needle off :p

as for mk1 bulbs am not sure phone citroen up for which ones you need

no mate there normal leds they dont list them on the maplins website u have to go in and ask for SMD PLCC-2 LEDs

going to do mine, but still want my light on the dash to say my lights are on to be green! so do i only need 14, as yours is blue :afro:

yeah jsut need 14 then, i did the light indicator blue coz the green looked odd agsinst the other blue led, i also changed the main beem to red led so i could see it stand out a mile when i have it on so i remmeber to turn it off

Hah, smart man. I noticed that too and thought i would just leave it as green so i dont confuse myself but maybe ill make it blue or something too or yellow!


Scott, how much was the soldering iron?

Anyone got any more info on the mk1 dials having clear needles? Do they light up etc?
