yeah i just found out that the passenger side had the arch linder and there is no rust there and the drivers side did not and that has rust, so that was one of the main reasons then.

update.

went to reading today and have bought a pair of struts and drive shafts off a 2001 vts. so they will be fitted tommorow and then it should hae all 4 wheels on. which will be good to finnally see.

i have also fitted a alpine cda-9813 to replace the standard one.

i will upload pics tommorow

Liam-westcoast 13th March 2010 18:52

right the driveshafts are now finnally on after a couple of months of searching lol, but there is one problem we need 2 front hub nuts...

we went to 2 citroen garages and 1 peugeot garage today and none of them had any in stock but w will be ordering them monday.

also aerial connector for my alpine headunit that is now fitted.

but so far the vts is coming along well,

cheers

Liam-westcoast 15th March 2010 18:48

my dad sent me some pics of how it stands now and tbh i am extremely pleased, i still need to sort out the hub bolts but it is on all 4 wheels and looks great.

the engine needs a good clean but much better than before and the pipercross is also fitted.

at the momment it is not starting my dad might know the problemand it could be sorted out tommorow

Liam-westcoast 17th March 2010 22:18

right thanks to some help from ross (raunchz) i have found out i now need to unlock my ecu or try and find an unlocked 3 plug one, which is seeming quite difficult.

so more money still to be sent on this. the car has had more problems than i thought it would but it should be pretty decent when everything is sorted for it.

so should be road worthy soon

cheers
liam

Liam-westcoast 20th March 2010 19:14

a few more pics from today the sticker is finnaly removed and looks much cleaner.

also when i bought the car i was told it was lowered 40ml but at the moment it is looking like 55-60ml but i love it like that

and the ecu should be sorted this week.

exhaust still needs to be moved

but at the moment i am loving how it looks.

what do you lot think?

jdizzy 20th March 2010 19:17

Looks lush mate, that's sticker removed looks alot better IMO

Liam-westcoast 20th March 2010 19:21

cheers jd yeah with the sticker gone it is so much cleaner, you can still see the out line but isnt to bad tbh.

but yeah only a few more little things to make it look a bit better should be done.

cheers

raunchz 20th March 2010 19:23

Liam-westcoast 20th March 2010 19:51

cheers mate, yeah my dad is taking the ecu to some guy and he will check it over i am not to sure of what he is doing lol, but will find out in the week.

Andy_K 20th March 2010 20:11

Looks good Liam. Not usually a fan of colour coded silver cars, but for some reason yours looks mint! Must be the wheels lol

Liam-westcoast 20th March 2010 20:12

i agree with you there andy as i think most of them don't look nice at all, but when i saw this i really really liked it i think because it is a mk2 and the wheels maybe. and the perfect height as well.

cheers mate

sly-68 22nd March 2010 10:20

update

right a few more little things have been done throughout the week.

Tuesday night it was towed to the auto electrical place as it was being worked on the next day, on the Wednesday my dad called me to say they had been working on it for a couple of hours and found 9 faults but it now starts.
yesterday the alpine cda-9813r headunit was fitted which looks and sounds great could just do with with the plastic souround. and also my dad fitted a new fan belt.
i also went in yesterday and was extremely impressed to say how quick these are and it sounds amazing with the sportex exhaust, i have only been in a 1.4 and a 1.1 saxo lol but this seems so quick and i love it  can't wait to go in in it again.

a few pics from ysterday

the headunit

thanks

Dom 1st May 2010 22:04

Its coming along very nicely! Nice project you got going here, keep up the good work :y:

Liam-westcoast 1st May 2010 22:08

cheers dom only really need a drivers headlight as one of the clips has snapped and then mot and tax.

but will be a great car when mot and tax is sorted

liam

Liam-westcoast 1st June 2010 19:31

good news.

the car is finally done. today my dad took the car to be mot'd and passed with no advisory's :y:. he then also taxed it as well. the car still has a few little things to be sorted out on it but it seems to be going well so far.

and needs a very very good clean, but i am happy with how it has turned out and the sound from the exhaust is amazing.

Liam mate, I hate to be a cunt (and by the way the VTS is looking ace on the subject of cars, which is surprising, as I usually am not a fan of silver Saxo’s), I am genuinely interested. (I think you know this isn't meant as malicious/being a prick, I am genuinely curious)

Why do you have a VTS before you can drive bud?

I won't insult you by asking if you've thought if insurance and all that bollocks, and apologise if you've already answered this question and it's me being ignorant.

All the best :y:. :D.

Liam-westcoast 1st June 2010 19:43

lol no worries mate this came up at a good price and only needed a bit of work so just bought it as the jobs it needed doing were not to bad, but it is to sell on.

as i want to get a vtr or furio/westcoast for my first car.

so no worries bud.

liam

Bound 1st June 2010 20:03

Ah right, cheers bud!

Yeah, good on ya. I mean, that's the good thing about all the 8 valves, VTR is group 7, whereas a VTS is 14 kinda thing. Isn't just down to groups, but yeah.

Hope you make a tidy profit mate :y: =].

Liam-westcoast 1st June 2010 20:08

cheers bud!

yeah i used to have a westcoast and it was pretty good and would make a good first car, but i got that when i was 14 though, and did not work on it much.

but yeah i am just considering furio or westcoast, but i reckon the westcoast as i prefer that mk1 a little more lol.

cheers mate

joe333 1st June 2010 20:57

looks really nice mate!

Liam-westcoast 1st June 2010 21:21

cheers mate
