Lol thanks, Yeh roads you dont know become a massive hazard! Forever looking for potholes or big dips in the road. What tyres are you going to use? With the right tyres you should get away with not having any rubbing on the front on full lock.

Update - Got myself a large square rear view mirror which I like for some reason unknown to me! It was an e-bay bargain so thought I'd try it out, I will reserve my judgement on it for a couple weeks.
Also got abit sticker happy, nothing ott just a couple on the rear window and a sneaky one on the new mirror.
Got some pictures of how the car is now. It will probably stay as it looks now for a few months, plans are to just spray a couple bits, a/b pillars etc, and just keep it clean. Oh, and look into buying a bloody camera! :D

Next big mod will be in september/october and that will be new wheels. Looking at 14" banded steels.

Spec update:
Exterior -

Smoked Headlights
SMD sidelights and rear numberplate lights
Philips Diamond Vision 5k Lights
Clear Jewel Rear Lights With Bottom Section Tinted Red
Chrome indicator bulbs
Team Heko Wind Deflectors
Meshed & Colour Coded Grill
Yellow tinted fogs
Areial Blanking Plug
Rear washer jet blank
De-wipered
Debadged rear

Interior/Ice-

GTI Half Leather Interior
Sony Xplod bluetooth playback headunit
Vibe 12" slick sub and matching 400watt amp
Zebra suede MDF false floor/template for Sub and Amp
Vibe slick co-axial door speakers

Suspension/Wheels-

Gaz Coilovers with Custom 5 Inch Springs, Apex Rear Shocks
Front lowered roughly 80mm, Rear lowered roughly 60mm
Silver VTS wheels
25mm Hubcentric Spacers on the rear

Exhaust-

Ashley 3" inward rolled backbox

Yeh I'm not sure on it yet. It obviously gives a wider view than standard, but it isnt like the standard mirror is restrictive of view so it does nothing much for practicality, I quite like how it's not rounded so looks kinda cool from the car behind me :)

Oli-VTR 20th March 2012 17:35

im a big fan of the rear view mirror been looking into one for myself, whered you pick it up?

Thanks :y:
Probably either citroen or ford 14" ones, either 7j fronts 8j rears, or 7.5j fronts and 8j rears.

I've seen 2 or 3 sets in these sizes pop up for sale recently, so hopefully a set suitable will be up for sale after the summer. :)

bobertmate 21st March 2012 01:22

Cheers, its sitting exactly how I want it now, based on how yours is at the front, and the fact mine is 10mm higher as standard, I'd say mine is about 80mm.
To get to this point I've gone from being at 35/40mm, Apex 50mm kit, Change to Spax 60mm springs...Then FINALLY stopped being a pussy and just got the Gaz's :panic:

Yeh the mirror is just a maybe for now

LSOfreak 22nd March 2012 15:42

haha ive lowered my car 4 times now aswell
started at 35/40mm
then spax 60mm, then gaz 70/75mm, now the gaz with custom springs ;)
its an addiction going lower tbh

Yeh, we both should of saved ourselves some money and went straight for the coillies!

I cant see myself going any lower than this at the front, but once I've got some banded steels or something wide I'll lower the back another 10 or 15mm I think.

On a side note, got my mk1 PAS pipes on now, feels so amazing have power steering back, I actually got a thrill out of bay parking last night :homme:

how much clearance have you got between the mk1 pipes and the steering arm? as you know my cars not as low as your yet but it still touches on full lock

Still had to bend a part out the way, but once that was done theres loads of room (loads in comparison to how much gap I did have) I could go another 10mm lower and would still have a gap I think. :y:

No worries :y:

john_c 23rd March 2012 09:20

love the car mate looks good

JoshFurioBrookes 23rd March 2012 15:32

Took my front wipers off today as I decided to respray the wiper arms. Now I'm tempted to leave them off for abit, as it looks alot cleaner without the wipers!
Also clayed the top half of the car, it feels nice and smooth now!

m11ler 23rd March 2012 15:45

That reminds me, i need to re-spray my wiper arms!

Saxos look better without wipers at all! But yeh, my wiper arms were also in serious need of respraying!

bobertmate 24th March 2012 13:19

This Saxo is basically perfect to me, subtle yet cleaaaaan! Less is definitely more, keep it up mate :)

Cheers, yeh, just wheels left to get and then I'm pretty much sorted, just a few interior bits to tidy up too :)

john_c 24th March 2012 19:16

Banded steels eventually, not for a 4-5 months yet though :)

Llardy 26th March 2012 17:19

did you get them pics in the end mate?

JoshFurioBrookes 26th March 2012 18:59

Ah Yeh, I uploaded them onto my computer and then forgot about them! Kinda hard to make out whats what, but the bit I bent is just where it joins and dissapears into the firewall bit, instead of it coming out towards the steering arm it now goes parallel with it, and then obviously goes completely away from it with the flexible mk1 pipe.

You can see where the mark is where Kris had the pole against it to push it back away from the steering arm.

Simon0014 26th March 2012 21:27

Looking very smart as always. It does look a lot cleaner without but what happens when it rains....haa Just take them off for shows ;)

Thanks Simon!
They are back on now, I was only toying with the idea, unless I find an amazing product for the windows that makes water run off instantly, they will be staying on except for shows :y:

Ahh good stuff man! Yeah I've tried rain-x but even that isn't quite good enough to go without wipers. It is only ok IF the rain is hard as if its light rain it just puts a mist on the screen and you can't see shit! Tried in my dads fiesta a few years ago...safe to say I ended up using the wipers!!

Yes It seems wipers are a necessity, who would of thought?!

JoshFurioBrookes 28th March 2012 23:19

While I had my wipers off got a few more pictures, almost happy with how the paint work is looking now. Thinking of getting the boot resprayed and then getting the rest of the car mopped in the summer.

There are now 2 sets of the exact banded steels that I want for sale. Just cant afford them for about another two months, hoping a set will still be about by then, in which case I'll have them on for FCS 2012.

And a reflection shot:

LSOfreak 29th March 2012 11:32
