I tried this tonight. Using a hairdryer, the first was no problem the sealer melted quite easily. Second was a complete nightmare as the sealer jus wouldnt give at all, ended up wreckin the light but thats my fault lol. Off to scrappy 2moro to get another and will try it in the oven.

chrsjcb 20th July 2010 11:44

Do I need to tell my insurance company if I spray the surrounds?

I'm not spraying the reflective part behind the light, just the bit's everyone else has done.

Piano 26th September 2010 14:13

Big thanks to the guys who posted the step by step instructions on how to do this. I was originally going to buy these lights from ebay for just under £100. I've spent £16 on paint, primer and sand paper. Everything seems to be going smoothly so far, just waiting on the paint to dry. I opted to use a hairdryer to get the lenses off which was probably a bit more time consuming but it worked just the same. Was a little tricky getting the lights off the car and i broke a couple of the clips from the brows but these should be replaced easily enough. So again, thanks guys. Instructions like this are a god send. :clapping::y:

And here's the finished result :y:

Smoked Jewel lights at the back also.

The side repeaters do you mean? If that's what you mean, i got mind from ebay.

Here.

Keep a hold of your old ones for MOT though as those ones may not be strictly legal as they are pretty dark. You can still see them fine when flashing though and they look great on the car.

brosnan 26th September 2010 20:34

Na but cheers,

I mean the indicators in the headlights...

Piano 26th September 2010 20:36

If you're meaning the indicator covers on the front lights, i would try a scrappy. My 2 front ones are actually slightly different which is a bit annoying. One is slightly off colour but its not too bad.

Sorry mate, thought you meant the repeaters. Scrappy would be a good place to try i reckon. I'm thinkin of replacing my passenger side one cos it's a bit yellowish and i'll prob just go to the scrappy. I'll have a wee dig about online though, see if i can find any.

sudds 26th September 2010 20:56

Spot on guide mate!

Piano 26th September 2010 21:15

Had a look and it looks like you'll have to buy the entire headlamp which is a bit shit! Nowhere seems to sell just the indicator cover on the headlamp.

davefurio 27th October 2010 23:17
