Willsy, did you go to these guys on a recommendation?

Yep i did do my homework on this place, they were strongly recommended by 3 very well respected garages in the area, the question i asked them all was "who would be best to go to for this?" rather than "would you recommend these guys?" all the places said the same and they even use this place for a majority of their work

It is common when the head gasket is wearing to start leaking from that same corner, but its still only a weap. With 2 new head gaskets now being fitted i cant see how it could possibly be a pour. Oil level has gone from the max line on the dip stick to the min line after between 5-10 minutes of running tops.

Nothing to update on today unfortunately, no call. Ill visit them again tomorrow if ive not heard anything.

Good luck mate, if your willing to travel you can always bring it to my garage :P

Cheers for the offer, very much appreciated. I wouldt fancy towing the car for any great distance though. It struggles to get on most trailers

jonezy 12th March 2008 00:00

what order did they torque the bolts up and how tight, check steves thread about removing and refitting the head and shows the correct order on there

Aron 12th March 2008 00:04

I think he went by the haynes manual.

jonezy 12th March 2008 00:08

ok, just in case the garage fucked up and torqued em up in the wrong order

Nah not to this one unfortunately. Going to spend the week giving the car a good clean, tidy up the wiring in the engine bay that we've just connected for the time being to get the car running.

Also going to connect the ecu up to the laptop to download any error codes and correct them, its overfuelling at the moment aswel so short term fix is to put the 3 bar fuel pressure regulator back in rather than the 3.5 bar just to keep it down a little.

Mapping asap too, and need to fully fit the procomp as its just the open filter on at present.

Itll be at the RR meet :)

Simon 18th March 2008 00:51

Did you find out what caused the leak in the end?
