Good stuff chap. So are you running on a base map at present?

Yeah just a basemap at present which is 'ok' but im not happy enough with it to drive it frequently yet due to:

Overfuelling slightly
Some flat spots which happen now and again

Booked it back in at Xspec the place where we put the engine in for a week on Friday (Easter hols plus it gives me time to fully fit the procomp and tidy up some of the other wiring before then)

Theyre going to hook it up and have a fiddle with the fuelling and iron out the flat spots. Then i can drive it for about 1k miles to run the engine in before fine tuning.

Compared to what im used to the power is absolutely awesome, such a big smile on my face and the adrenaline goes a bit wild with the acceleration.

nice to hear mate, where you getting it mapped?

Just realised that id already answered this one. Getting it done at Xspec for early mapping. They're familiar with the KMS ecu aswel and have some very very good rollers to do it on

willsy 18th March 2008 15:52

Also i need to adjust the idle as its ticking over rather high at the moment, its a settled speed though which is good. Just about 1k higher than it should be

Wayne 18th March 2008 23:25

Excellent news mate:y: look forward to pictures:):P

Friday 21st March

About due another quick update for you all.

The car is running without oil leaks now, that problem has finally been sorted (about time too) still need to discuss with them the damage that they caused and get it repaired

The car is now booked in again at Xspec where whe engine was initially put in so that they can do a preliminary map on it due to:

Overfuelling (almost 50 miles done- 1/3 tank used) :panic:

High idle speed - no change when cleaning stepper motor (sure its not faulty) and tweaking the small adjuster by the throttle cable

General lumpyness here and there that needs ironing out.

Then with this done i can get 1-2k miles in before going back for the full on mapping once the engines run in a bit.

Pulls really well already, taken a few local peeps from the site out for a quick taster.

Anyway: the procomp is now fitted, had to do some chopping of the carbon and also on the samco hose (Dad to the rescue)

Morette wiring is tidied up fairly well now as this was a mess before- Alex_VTS gave me a helping hand yesterday doing this and some general tidying (nice one mate)

Catch tank is fitted, dad made a bracket for that. Its not plumbed in fully yet as im yet to find some decent hosing for it, so excuse the standard supplied stuff thats quickly attached in the pics- black hose needed)

The KMS display/wiring/plugs etc still need doing and running into the car, but theres no point me doing this until its been mapped at xspec next week.

Bigger battery also needed as the 1.0 one which ive been using is just 340Amps starting power so takes a few extra turns over before firing up. 470Amps needed which is the rating on Alex's VTS

lavo-vts 21st March 2008 18:00

looking good mate. as for the over fueling i usually get bout 140miles to 1/2 in mine. glad mine isnt as bad as yours

rushy_23 21st March 2008 18:04

Obviously matt theres little touches here and there that need doing but tbh
the bay looks the nuts!
