Proberly the best idea tbh, it will defo sell on ebay. Will it defo not run on the kms?

maynard 21st April 2008 22:43

matt, is their no way you can get it running with your set up now?

AlexR 21st April 2008 23:27

Did you not understand that the KMS doesn't work with the standard saxo stepper motors? You just have to adjust the throttle stop on the throttle body to the parameters given by QEP with the KMS, then calibrate the TPS and off you go.

I tried explaining this earlier but didn't get a good response...

AlexR 22nd April 2008 08:50

lol well i was the first person on here and ssc to have a kms fitted, possibly one of the first few people in the country, and i had it fitted by qep(for free of course) at a cost of £580 inc adaptor loom(price has gone up) with loan of wideband to map. There is idle control valve functionality on the ecu but it's not compatible with the standard one, you would need an external system, from memory it's a kms product, or some sort of bosch valve.
Instead of talking to gmc who just supply it, you should speak to QEP who are the uk distributor so will know a lot more about it.

Toad 22nd April 2008 09:00

Good insight that Alex. Hopefully if Willsy was thinking of selling up the KMS just for the idle reason, he'll think again...

Saving money by sticking with the KMS setup aswell because you would probably have to drop the price to shift it...

Good luck again bud :y:

Wednesday 23rd April

ECU plans have changed again....

....and its not a choice that you'd expect.

Will reveal more soon

Luke 24th April 2008 00:10

I ain't a clue what's going on with the car mate, ain't been on here for a month.....

jpsaxo 24th April 2008 00:27

IMHO you should stick with what you have (kms) and get it up to GMC by hook or by cruck and get them to map it.

OR

Sell the KMS, plug the OE ECU in and book yourself in @ chipwizards.

cheaper maybe but you still need to pay to have it wired in which is the costly part!

Its the wiring up and fannying about with looms etc which really kills the price.

The option im getting doesnt have to worry about any of that and is made specifically for the car and is literally plug and play.

And no it has nothing atall to do with a standard ecu :)

Mini-valver 25th April 2008 11:14
