Tbh I can speak from experience, And if its really starting to give you jip mate then raise her up, ive been thinking about doing the same to mine recently, shes starting to rattle around like a bastard now and im getting fecked off with all the bumpy roads around my area, starting to like the look of -60mm all round now and i think there a a fair few benefits to that extra height. Yours would still look sexy as fook at that height i reckon. but its so nice to be amongst the lowest cars on the road!

loving the car though mate

CHIP 18th November 2008 12:16

Cheers pal. Your right it is nice to have a really low car. Its mint when you drive into a cruise etc. and people are like 'wow, thats low, its awesome!'... proper makes me smile or people giving me thumbs up at lights with a big grin on their face.

Proper makes you feel like it's all worth it.

Claire-VTR 18th November 2008 12:25

Personally, imo, I think yours would look alot better if it was level? If your questioning whether its too low or not, I would raise it at the back but leave it the way it is at the front.

It would look top notch then!! :y:

CHIP 18th November 2008 12:27

Its not that its too low as such, not visually anyway (although front needs to come down). But the fact that I dont know how long the car can carry on like it. It looks awesome in my eyes. But the body does creak as it is and i dont want to damage it.

Claire-VTR 18th November 2008 12:36

lol Im the same but its a saxo and they're feeble anyways :fcuk:

Im with you completely that low is the way to go! :y: Just have it they way you want, but like you said, the lower you go the more trouble it causes, but anything can be fixed.

After alot of bother I finally got mine to sit level at the back, (have to get pics up though) the front arch sits over the tyre, but I ruined driveshafts and my powersteering burst twice but since then i bought a brand new driveshaft which holds 100% and I got my powersteering pipes relocated, so everythings fine now and I havent hand any bother whatsoever since.

All im trying to say is that it can be done!! And if thats the way you want it, go for it! ;)

Fruitbooter 18th November 2008 12:55

Hey mate love the car looks sexual, dont raise the back unless your having major problems lol.

What suspension you running at the front, i know its down -60mm but what springs and shocks?

If you do change to coilovers make sure you get some that are up to the job ;)

Karl 18th November 2008 12:58

Really low Saxo's arent cool.
ruins the one thing thats nice about them, the handling.

Claire-VTR 18th November 2008 13:03

Mine handles fine, infact superb!! :P Ive run mine from just having 60mm springs to coilovers to cut springs to shortened shocks etc etc, loads of different and stupid ways! :geek:

ok ok it isnt the best on really bad country roads but what lowered car is?

yup! :n: But It was only a quick fix until i got the coilovers (which turned out to be even worse) There was less than a coil took off though, I hated the way it didnt sit even and I was going to a show that Saturday and wanted it sorted. Bad move I know, but it actually wasnt all that bad, not good for the car at all though lol

my cousins mate did it with his 106. took a bit to much of and the spring popped out and went through his wing lol

Claire-VTR 18th November 2008 13:16

O dear?? that isnt good! lol

Na, I only wanted about 10mm -15mm so 1 coil was enough to do the job. IMO it didnt feel any different to what it was like before, but I dont agree with people that would half the amount of coils :S there is a limit and it just isnt safe, like your cousin experienced? I have it sorted now though :P

But anyways, back to Chip! ;)

Xsi16v_Jk 18th November 2008 13:17

Im guessing your one of these 'motorsport-ish' kind of people? Yes, lowering it this much isnt much good for handling and yes, its only a showcage not a full one, but i dont get people who cant understand the STYLING side of modifying. Not everything has to try and be like a rally car. You can just make your car stand out visually from the rest too.

LVC_VTR 18th November 2008 18:26

keep it slammed it looks awesome

LEE_VTR1 18th November 2008 22:50
