Well to be honest Craig,

Some lad broke down near my house and he rang me to go and help him... So being the gentleman I am I did just that..

In the process I got soaking wet, so when I was home I had to change the other 2 wheels freezing and drenched through. I did it though..

I hope your happy with the damage you have caused.

Car is looking amazing so far tbh, for work been done on it. Wish the lad who owned my old mk1 before me had of done the underside, everything was rotton, one of the front bumper bolting points and broke away from the car with rust, poor lad whos bought it.

Think when i get a new car, im inspired to do some of the work you're doing :A:

James 1st September 2008 10:06

Just drove to MOT... won't go on the ramps because of the fanny mould lol

Managed to get it booked in down the road from me for 10.45...

Couple of things wrong.. I know it won't pass straight away but it's nice to know what I am going to need to do.

Car is fast... I like very much yes

James 1st September 2008 10:14

These look better on green car lol

James 1st September 2008 11:27

Failed MOT.. expected it to anyway... did better than I thought though lol

Needs new brake lines on both sides front to rear.
New washer motor..

Thats it.. so pretty sound.

Luke 1st September 2008 11:44

Nothing major at all, least it can be sorted easily.

Looks like it's going to make the ring then?

TU-Tuning 1st September 2008 11:45

Bargain thats hardly an issue atall. Fair play its really smart, especially for the money. Very sad to see the green one like that after what it looked like before, especially all dirty and unloved lol. I like those rims on the mk1 they suited it and theyre different, but they dont look quite right ont he green one to me

James 1st September 2008 11:47

Yep, free partcial re-test within 10 days so i'll get that sorted this week hopefully.

New Tyres, get rims painted, machine the bodywork, fit piper back on, re-fit rear splitter, fix oil guage, tidy engine up, fit xeons and job's a goon'un.

Ben - There going back on, had to swap them over for the MOT as tyres on them are illegal lol

that car will never be the same without 15 inch leggies ;)

Yates 1st September 2008 17:26

told you to change wheels over and you said no!

not bad at all that excuse to get braided lines aswell ;)

James 2nd September 2008 14:39

Car is booked in for MOT re-sit on Monday, on Monday they will also replace all the brake lines.. front and rear. Might as well do them all at once. 100 pound + VAT.. an unexpected bill but might as well have it all done and save me the hassle later down the line.

So the car WILL be on the road monday..

I'll be getting the wheels sorted this week sometime as well :)

TU-Tuning 2nd September 2008 14:49

is that 100 quid for just fitting the brake lines? or MOT too? I its just the labour do it yourself thats a rip off, brake lines are a piece of piss to fit. Could get braided ones for 50/60 quid

That's 50-60 quid for one pair dude.. I'd need 2 pairs. It is not just the lines that need doing it's everything from the cylinder.. down under the car to the brake lines as well. I arn't clued up but I don't even fancy attempting to pull all the old lines out and put new lines in :S never touched breaks in my life lol

Then labour, break oil, breaks being bled etc..all materials etc.

That also covers the costs to partially re-test the 2 items it failed on.. assumed it was free but after reading the form with Ash last night it states a small charge will be incured if the car leaves the garage.
