not a probalem thanks for comment :D :drink::y:

raunchz 11th January 2010 15:50

4" backbox with straight-through centre section to cat/manifold and you're onto a winner !!

I'd not weld it as will be a bitch taking it on and off in the future. I'd just buy one that fits properly together! Will minimise the work you have to put into it, if you bodge a join it'll always leak etc.

its got a sports cat so im not sure on whether to straight through the system or not. the backbox was orginally made for a 1.4 saxo east coast. are they same diamter mm to mm for the fitting?

wouldnt know tbh.

Is the sports car welded to the centre section? OR does it have the standard joins in it ?

go for a supersprint centre section with 4" backbox, or a Piper cat back stainless system.

xxo0pko0xx 11th January 2010 16:11

the pipe for my saxo in diamter is 13.5cm all the way round and 4.5cm if u measure the width of the whole. so what u reckon a pipe reducer?

pipe reducer will have to be 5cm>4cm si it fits easy :)

xxo0pko0xx 11th January 2010 16:11

as if im sure this is exactly the same size as the standard system

xxo0pko0xx 11th January 2010 16:54

fitting bigger zorst tomorrow after i pick up parts. will post piccys :D
not welding it. as also my welders out of action atm -.-. anyway plan is to use pipe reducer 5cm-4cm and plently of clamps to hold it in place. hope this works :S

i know this backbox sounds very nice tho. hopefully aaron can back me on this when he heard it on my 106?

Azza-VTR 11th January 2010 22:03

Cheers mate

Today removed single wiper conversion as i got sick of it :S. been trying to sort out little ningles with the car today such as

washer jets keep falling out. ordered new ones that fit on wiper blades

bonnet doesnt lock down as the popper isnt high engough. need to replace the hinges so it will lock as currently pins are doing all the work- hinges i missed delivery so theyre waiting at post office

Bonnet flew up a few days ago and cracked a bit of the side. this needs glueing back on

rear interior pannel keeps falling off so need to replace pins for this

tyre could do with changing. However im buying some alloys now anyway :):afro:

i ALso fit the exhaust in a hurry and didnt secure it properly. went on a 80 mile trip and 2 miles from home it dropped off -.-. so that needs refitting asap for now my peco's back on

Juast little cheap niggles that are annoying me tbh

In other news i removed the chevrons and fitted a alarm :D:boxing:

yes mate hope so :) the bonnet sits like a inch of the catch but when the bonnet flew up it bent the hinges anyway hense new ones. the snapped of bits should easily glue back on and paint over with a bit of matt black :)

Azza-VTR 14th January 2010 15:22

what sort of alarm mate?

raunchz 14th January 2010 15:33

didn't the bonnet pins stop it flying up? Get some aerocatches as they are lockable so the bonnet wont go anywhere

xxo0pko0xx 14th January 2010 15:43

forgot to lock pins down haha alarm is one of ebay. not expensive but better then nothing!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/REMOTE-ENGINE-...item2c4d96b68d

mite get some aerocatches. seem a bit more road worthy :)

xxo0pko0xx 17th January 2010 21:12

NEW LIST OF MODIFICATIONS FOR FEB 10

locking aerocatches
oil catch tank
alloy wheels
pink brake calipers

ALSO FIXED ALL LITTLE NIGGLES. BONNET POPPER NOW LOCKS BONNET DOWN AS IT SHOULD. INTERIOR PANNEL IS REFITTED WITH CLIPS AND I SPENT A WHOLE DAY AND NIGHT WITH THE DENTED BONNET ON SO I COULD REPAIR THE FIBREGLASS ONE :) HAPPY DAYS

Wheels need spraying + maybe roof?
Then you need to move onto tarting up your interior and bay :y:

Yeah :) dunno what can really do tho tbh it's already coded and I've put a blue bulb in the interior light. Wouldn't mind a race wheel and some digital dials tho. As in digital and no clocks. But that's just a thought. what can I do for interior? And the bay isn't that just samco hoses and strut brace with a chrome mani and a painted alternator?
