its not like theres any other comforts or sound deadening lol all it does is stop the floor being slippery

jpsaxo 9th January 2013 05:26

What gear oil are you using in this box mate?

I think it's the fusch one - cant remember exactly, it was expensive and is the one we normally use in our box's. PM me and ill get my dad or brother to get a picture for you :)

martyno 11th January 2013 19:21

I have recently bought some decent oil for mine, something from Amsoil. I just wanted reassuring that you were using some quality oil with your set up :)

tazmania_0345 11th January 2013 20:32

Yep yep, tbh I try never to cut corners with this car, it's just not worth it and comes to bite you in the bum if you do

I live in Sydney (yes the one with the Opera house and famous harbour down under lol) most of the year now so don't get to go to many meets unfortunately Taz. I'm back for all of July this year so will be at French car show - which has just been announced that it is at castle coombe this year!

Hello JP! As promised an update and a few pictures of the loom and how it is coming along!
I have managed to completely remove the birds nest of wiring over on the n/s of the dash, also finished relocating most of the fuses into the new fusebox.
As you can see from the pictures the loom is looking vastly better!

The fusebox looking rather complete

The n/s dash, through panel area looking much tidier

And how the complete loom is looking, and how my living room is looking lol

Left to do is:

Completely wire in the front fog light system (this the missing fuse in the box)
Put some earths on the front lights
Convert the dash loom
Modify/make bracket to mount new fusebox in

Getting there, making nice progress
Hope you like?

Looks brilliant mate :)

MR_N 15th January 2013 07:49

That looks very good, also on my list to do. Not attempting it myself though.

Agreed mate, it's way too complicated for me tbh, beanie's done a cracking job of tidying it all up and minimalising it as well :)

Beaniemoo 22nd January 2013 22:24

Hello Josh! Back again with a nice update!
The body loom is now pretty much complete!

Tail section of loom all taped up and looking tidy

Fusebox with fog light relay fitted

Front section of loom all taped up
Red wire is battery feed, but I don't know the length at the moment

Dash area of loom

Fusebox area

Close up of taping

All whilst withstand a prelonged attack from Notdog

All thats left now is to do the dash switch and dial loom
Put a feed to the fog light fuse (JUST remembered I haven't put this in)
Replace or tidy radio wiring

It definitely is, once you get stuck into a loom it really does take a long time to organise it all!

True - although beanie made a great point - he's making this and then Beanie/sam/dad are fitting it back in with the dash etc so I wont actualy get to see his handy work as most of it will be covered behind the dash / wing / carpet lol
