Either way it is a huge difference and I can certainly notice it. Cheers for giving it to him to sell to me bud. :y:

was about 55mm on my car but was heavily stripped and sat about 30

it looked nice and flat in the corners at the weekend

Staying flat arch, ideally that'll aid the sleeper look in future :y: been dicussing tonight whether to go all out for 16 valves or just enjoy an R lump. (this is still a long way off though, or at least till I can afford it)

I'd love to but I have work wednesday from 3pm till 7.30pm :n: I only work two days a week, wednesday and sunday, got last sunday swapped with a bloke from work right at the last minute but ended up working a bit extra... worth it though :p

Does feel alot more stable and the bodyroll has significantly reduced, much more fun to drive :y: Can really notice the difference, I wish I could say the same about the 1.0 106 ;) have you made a thread for it?

Berg 28th April 2009 23:24

imo if your serious about a vtr engine i would go 16v but thats just me personally

depends what your after really as some people prefer the 8v

I did the 4 stud purely so that option was there for the future, shedloads of cars have inspired me (greensaxo's, snewham's, suki, to name a few) , this car is going to rust away with me in all fairness.

I've been speaking to a few people recently and as one stated it "depends on what the car will do in the future?"

To which I thought long and hard, and in reality the car won't always be a daily run round/fun road car... it'll be my toy for the weekend/track. And the conclusion of the S engine made more sense.

That said the car should *touch wood* see a smooth tarmac'd track this year, but this leave more ideas to roam around inside my head, hard to focus the direction of the car at present.

But if I want the power more recently *say next year june-ish* I could look at a R engine. Lots to think about.

Nackered exhaust, out with the old.

Opinions?
Well the exhaust that magically covered approx 80k has finally corroded, A hole has appeared by the backbox, now do I spend all out and buy a supersprint cat back system (£199) and keep the "derestricted cat" currently on the car or do I buy a piper bb (£137) and fit my welded stainless standard system (new cat welded to centre pipe).

Open to any thoughts here.

Please not I love the supersprint systems noise, always have done.. I realise its slightly different to piper lol! But I really like both systems and cant decide which system I'd prefer. :err:

The only thing that puts me off supersprint is how the backbox looks. :n:

Also a mini update:
For over a week I've had a 22mm front arb and brand new VTS wishbones and droplinks.

AlexB 24th May 2009 18:30

good call on the wishbones man
nice wider track than the flat ones lol

i personally would keep a box if you get a piper
but the supersprint is good

hmmm

Tom_Crx 24th May 2009 18:31

I'd go for the supersprint mate, always been a fan of them, saving up for one atm

Just need to get them fitted, far too many assessments due! Did sam tell you how much I picked the arb up for ;)

I think I'll go for the rasp, even my mum thinks its more feasable to buy the entire system then get the backbox and fit the stainless centre that I've got spare.

Havent bought FCS tickets yet, got the time off just need to fork out :n:, I want track time aswell though :err:

AlexB 24th May 2009 18:50

probably cheap lol

get your ticket sorted boyo!!

shooorn94 8th June 2009 12:45

Supersprint fitted

After a load of mess last week my supersprint got fitted (my cat needed to be cut down and I'm now wishing I had a decat) the exhaust has slightly melted the bumper but I've sanded it down a tad and it should be sorted by FCS.

Anywho I went to lower my mates clio with him in stourbridge, he's got some immense shots on his proper camera but here are some of mine:

My FCS tickets have now arrived, and some last bits I'm trying to get done before then are:

New sax-p stickers to tidy the car up.
Mirror caps,
Respray strut brace,
smoked side repeaters,
shorter aerial.

Just to tidy the car up slightly. :y:

Tom_Crx 8th June 2009 20:45

Looks good dude, glad you found your way to stourbridge in the end lol

shooorn94 8th July 2009 13:19

Not much in terms of updates really been busy all over the shot with mates cars etc. And I've had a large holiday to organise. Anywho here's some pics since the start of june :)

Met with my mate for a small photoshoot and a small drive to "bed in" his new exhaust:

And some at FCS:

A little comparison between the last two years.

And got a set of mirror caps just in time for cornwall.

And I may be visiting a certain track at the end of the month so have some protection lined up ;)

Plans for the summer in time for trax to tidy the car up are as follows:

Pressed plates,
smoked side repeaters,
shorter ariel

and I'm a bit undecided on the following:

I'd like a black roof (roof needs a respray) and I've always been a fan of the "meaner" mk1 grille debadged I quite like it and I've been quoted £130 for all the work :y:

Sneakydevil89 8th July 2009 13:58

im not really a fan of the "meaner" MK1 grill, but it strangly suits your car there.
add in the mirror caps in that pic and i think your onto a winner.

bobertmate 12th August 2009 11:38
