bluenotesmiley 23rd February 2010 15:57

Looks like its come out pretty well mate. Do you work at a bodyshop then? If so how much to touch up 3 or 4 spots on a similar car as I am wondering if it is worth me doing it myself or not.

Sneakydevil89 23rd February 2010 21:25

looking really good mate.

i honestly would leave it colour coded as i think it looks so much better. colour coded white sax's are awesome

im an apprentice atm mate working at pierremonts on the pysons road industrial estate.

but in all honesty its worth doing the prep work yourself and then paying the garage to do the paint work.

i bought all my paint for £55 and its its done nearly half a car

and i think im leaving it colour coded now for deffo

Cheers for the reply buddy. I'm ok doing all that, I might go and get some quotes although getting throttle bodies, new cam belt and a vernier pully set is top of the list at the moment!

Your car's looking like its going to look quite nice once it's all back together. You can't beat a white Sax!

wardesaxoboy 24th February 2010 01:10

UPDATE i know im slacking on pics, but when you work on cars all week you sort of loose all enthusiasm for your own, however the sax is back on the road and better than ever:

and i had a little play with a shop window in this one:

list of things in progress at the moment are:

respraying my gear lever
new grill going on as my euro one flew off on the motorway
looking for some pro race 1.2s in black
spraying front headlight trims. however i am considering getting some morretes for the front.
painting 106 gti mirrors and much more but really cant be arsed to say so youll have to wait and find out...

let me know what you think now shes all back together?

stormjojo1982 24th June 2010 10:32

looks good, so you decided to keep her instead of selling ?

samueljonburgess 24th June 2010 11:07

looks like its got 2 black eyes after tha crash haha

Lacey_106 24th June 2010 11:49

This is such a minter. Just read through the whole thread. Looks like you've worked so hard on it, it would be a real shame sell it.
But I can understand how you can feel uncomfortable driving it after a crash. However, I regret selling my car after I crashed it. Nothing else has ever come close. :(

Great thread though :)

Llardy 24th June 2010 13:08

Well I've decided to keep it, feel really comfortable driving it now. I've aslo defused to lower the front to level the car out instead of raising the back. 60mm pi springs on the way hopefully. Cyclones are on eBay atm because I really fancy some pro race 1.2s and I wanna whack some buckets in it too. Loads more plans just no cash atm

j_a_lyons 24th June 2010 13:17
