Tried out some new lights today aswell...

Quite like these but think i prefer to keep smoked standard items on at the moment as the red breaks up colours on the rear nicely :)

New lights are being ordered with an upgrade this week but need a decision on what to get out of these two lovelies...

I really like the Momo's and Sparco's are very nice too but im not sure on the new style badge :err:...old style was better tbh!
Ordering the 4-point bolt-in set with weight-spreading waistband and snap catch by the way...

Thoughts out of which set you'd go for out of the two please :y:

rushy_23 1st February 2008 21:21

Adam_Q 1st February 2008 21:32

Wayne 1st February 2008 22:31

Rear lights suit the rear quite well red:) sparco ones i would get.

Karl 1st February 2008 22:46

cant you get some thicker harnesses? skinny ones look really tacky imo?

mattchewone 1st February 2008 22:51

Some nice thick harnesses matey! Lights look nice. Progress is good :y: keep it up Red!

SaxoJamie 1st February 2008 23:48

Have been looking for some thicker ones dude as i agree with you there

Seen some D1 drift limited edition ones that are 6" and fully FIA approved but cost £200, worth it for me tho if they hold you really well and look the part to match ;)

Downer on that was that they come in green

Any ideas of thicker makes and versions plus please post any link/info you have :y:

RedB 3rd February 2008 21:50

Found the older style Sparco harnesses with 3" shoulder and lap belts which are the thickest i can find for any racing harnesses unless you order them specially from the land of rising sun or the States (i cant wait that long and im impatient lol)

Modworld were doing these for around £50 which id be happy with...

Any other suggestions or ideas? Im liking the Momo's more and more everytime i see them now :err:

rushy_23 4th February 2008 11:06

LOL your looking left right and centre huh!

Im my opinion matey you want 4 points, 3 points would even be fine but I
personally dont like the idea of the rear straps coming to one single strap.
Seems like more stress on it. Better if you have to seperate rear ones, hence
4 all together.
You wont need 6 points lol!

Also definatly go for 3", 2" is fine tbh but the 3" straps feel a bit better and also
look a bit better too.

Mine are 3" shoulder straps but 2" leg straps. Once correctly set up they hold
you in like glue.

If it were me I'd look into OMP, Sparco even Luke do good ones. Willians are
another good one, Sabelt like Toadus?

Used to have 6 point rage harnesses and Cobra Imola Buckets

Been there done that ;) Pics early in this thread...
Good for track days but useless for a daily driver's car like mine is

4 Point Old-Style harnesses either Sparco or Momo in Red with 3" shoulder and lap belts have been chosen i think just got to wait until tommorow before i can order these...want them now lol!

Stripping will be finished on wed/thurs and the interior re-spray and detail will also be finished for fri so she will be mint for the CS RR day on Saturday when front windows and sunroof will be tinted to match then Sun 10th i join the Clifford Club ;)

Thanks for everyone's advice with this and i have just spoken to a supplier about Cams so she will be almost finished before summer....

I'll keep it posted this week :)

RedB 5th February 2008 22:48

RedB 6th February 2008 12:47

Update 6/2/08

http://www.essexracing.com/product_i...roducts_id=526

Harnesses and some Simoni door sills also ordered which will be keeping with the colour scheme of Red and black

Im aiming for the interior to be finished by sat and the new GTI red Ralleye carpet should arrive today/tommorow so i will hopefully have most things finished just in time for a friday detail and final prep for the RR day down in Falmer on saturday after my windows are tinted bright and early at Solar Screen

Red :)

Adam_Q 7th February 2008 17:46

That's a lot to do in such a short time scale.... hope to see Ellie with red carpet... would look lush!

rushy_23 7th February 2008 17:58

RedB 8th February 2008 14:07

Update 8/2

Ellie got completely stripped last night and has lost a lot of weight

Pics of it in daylight later ;)

New lights have arrived along with what i think may be harnesses!
Fitting these later after taking pics of everything

When i get home from work at 5 i also need to fit a few bits that were colour coded last night before i move onto sanding and priming the interior so its prepped and ready to spray gloss black ;)

mattchewone 8th February 2008 16:27

Whens she being sprayed? What's going to be ready for tomorrow? Lights and harnesses?

Pat_Vts 8th February 2008 16:28

Find out tommorow morning and then go for a test drive to get some pictures in :y:

RedB 9th February 2008 23:45

Update 9/2

Time to shed some more weight :p

Doorcards front and rear removed, all trims and plastics stripped ready for spraying

I've decided on gloss black before everything is re-trimmed in red and black leather and a few bits flocked for that sexy look

Few snaps of the bay as a sneak peak of what you'll see at the RR day ;)

Old lights still on just for one last day...

RedB 9th February 2008 23:48

This 'little' package arrived today aswell

Wonder what they could be?

Love the look of them :)

See how they look tommorow before deciding to keep or send them onto a new home...

RedB 9th February 2008 23:53

Front windows and sunroof being tinted before the RR day today aswell

*Lots going on i know :p::panic:*

Saw this Renault Espace with Nordschleife/Nurburgring stickers on whilst i was parked inside and made me laugh so i had to take a snap...or two

Windows being finished...

Pics up once she's had a clean tommorow :y:

After the tints were finished i met up with Dez at Solar Screen who was also having his windows tinted and we cruised down to Brighton for the CS RR day at GTart...

RedB 10th February 2008 00:07

Arriving at GTart for the RR day i saw these jap beasts from the east...

800bhp!

Mine :A:

Few videos of the session in which i produced the second best RR results out of the saxo's, even beating Alex's VTS which has re-profiled cams and has also been re-mapped using the exisiting ECU!
Damo (Icelandic blue sax) beat me me one or two bhp but i was still happy considering my car will be 10 just before Trax@Silverstone this year :fcuk:

140hp
125Bhp at the wheels...

Supersprint manifold
Supersprint full exhaust
Carbon fibre induction kit with large air filter (chavvy one being replaced soon)
Heat-wrapped
Stripped to fook

New carpet and lights should be fitted tommorow if i get time...
More pics tommorow of the new interior and engine bay :)

Pat_Vts 10th February 2008 03:20

you have pm regarding ellie

craig180 10th February 2008 04:39

Good RR result mate! Mine made 141 with standard cams and ecu recently!

Not sure at all on those new front lights. I think you should sell them on

Saxy1 10th February 2008 08:27

Good progress mate.

Adam_Q 10th February 2008 10:22

Progress looks sweet dude! Wish I'd had time to bring my beast down ;)

Karl 10th February 2008 10:43

And headwork?

I was happy with the figures as i knew i should have run better fuel like V-power and as a consequence has a few teeny weeny DET problems but nothing major

Some people may say "Oh yeah V-power this, higher octane is balls" but i do feel a slight difference in response and general smoothness of the engine

GT ART also confirmed this to me and my session next month will show the results more clearly :)

RedB 10th February 2008 12:51

Interior has now been fully re-sprayed gloss black and just one harness is installed for me because i forgot they come as single items even though the pictures may show two ;)

*Schoolboy error - note to self*

Going out now to fit the 'new' lights so we will see whether they stay or go

Need your opinions on the results :y:

Alex 10th February 2008 12:53
