£240 to much 4 lowering

i want to have my vtr lowered 50mm all round,iv been quoted £240ish 4 eibach front springs and torsion bar done. This is at elite in rainham, essex. Is this to much money?

rossj 6th November 2008 23:01

I got mine done at 4extreme in crays hill, essex.

Spring were 80 for the eibach sportline 45-50mm then paid 4 extreme 170 to do it!!

badasssaxo 6th November 2008 23:01

If you’re around the Essex area I would recommend you use 4Extreme it’s a set rate of £150 and that’s for spring fitting and the torsion bar adjusted to match

Contact them on….

He's based at Crayshill which is between Basildon and Billericay.

Here's all his contact details

4Extreme Performance
unit 9f Whitebridge Industrial Estate
Crayshill, Billericay

Cant recommend this bloke enough, he's done about 4 of my cars now with work ranging from lowering, Full exhausts, Induction kits and small work as well. Give them a call and have a chat, he's open all week and on Saturady but Saturday is his busy day so best to call first

How can you lower the front with those springs? The shocks are too long surely?

When the front end decompresses the springs will come out the seats!

Hmm, am I missing something?

i swear you pop up every couple months to do little posts.lol

if they are supplying everything and lowering the correct way then its not too bad

euro-vtr 7th November 2008 19:35

if you want a trip to bournemouth il fit it for 120

titchster 8th November 2008 01:28

Bit expensive IMO, know hes hours away from you, but as a guide, RickyP charges £160, and supplies the springs.
The place where I got my first car lowered was £150, and I had to supply the springs, so even then, that worked out at £200.

wilksey 8th November 2008 15:21

yeah sounds a little dear mate although depends if they do a really good job

roffythegooner 8th November 2008 16:21

not 4extreme in crays hill!

went there 3 days ago!

NVY 10th November 2008 00:50

I would do it for £150.00 including springs. But considering I am 160 miles away from essex me saying that is relatively useless for you. Anyone around the Solihull/Birmingham area who want theirs done pm me!

Dasher_VTR 10th November 2008 20:22

beware of 4EXTREME i heard they use the notching method which is a shite way of lowering and potentially dangerous.

luthor1 10th November 2008 20:29

I still want to know how you can lower the front with springs, and not have them POP out when unloaded?

Notches method of lowering is total bullshit btw, don't do it. I will pre-load the torsion bar and can actually be dangerous - actually I think someone said it up there ^ ^, but I agree.

Anyway, yeah £240 is way too much.
