You could get a manifold, and and exhaust, but not much is going to make it quick mate. Wait for a VTR engine or VTS engine to drop in :y:

Any reason for the size 100 text?

Welcome mate, I've got a Desire as well - best I can say is new backbox and exhaust, induction kit, air filters, drop valves - theres loads you can do, but insurance will hate you at our age when we start modding the engine, may as well wait until you've got some NCB and then get a VTR :)

i cant get a vtr or vts engine cuz i'd get rap€d by insurance if i crash and im insurance is already sky high, my mate said iif i rip out all my plastic air filter shit it will sound beefy wud that fhk my car after a while ?

Just wait and build your no claims up mate.

Leave standard air filter in, its better than an induction kit without good air intake routing.

Tappy 17th October 2009 00:52

how much would a induction kit cost and what will a new black box do ?
im learnin carpentry in college so im abit shit with my car mods :D
and also what type of exhaust should i get?

Tappy 17th October 2009 00:54

would taking my airfilter pipes heading away from my engine mess my car up?

Liam_LFC_VTR 17th October 2009 03:50

Just leave it tbh.

As said, get some ncb and get a VTR/S

If I could go back in time I would of listened to my Mum and bought a £500 run around. Then saved/built up NCB for a much better car than what I have now..

Be that guy dude. Be sensible for now ;)

We all hate to admit it, but looking back our parents are pretty much usually spot on.

4k on my VTR back then and then around 1k on mods. After a year I duffed it. And was TPFT! Ouch :(

Worst thing is, it looked shit too.

tinytim6666 17th October 2009 09:26

if i were you dude i would just drop a back box on.
like ever1 else said just save up or you us the car te build on. make it to how you want it.
because i think that the vtr and 1.1 have the same shell

They do. But its more work, with struts ARBs, wishbones, an engine mount, the VT kit, the rear beam etcc

tinytim6666 17th October 2009 09:47

but if you dont put the effort in you never will get the car you build.
its all the fun, rip a car to bits then slowly re build them :D
well mines in working progress :D

littleracer 17th October 2009 09:47

Reality is if you take than option you will be better off in the future car wise. Will have more options available and more cash to spend.
