Paxo's Mk1 VTR/S Turbo - all parts for sale!

Passed my test in april, searched for the right car until October:panic: , when i finally found a nice saxo in good condition.
1997 P reg Mk1 VTR, 1 owner from new, only done 57,000 miles. Got it for 1600 quid:P

Couldn't get insured until my 18th birthday (22nd november) cos it was about 300 quid cheaper if i waited for a month so i did.

To be honest, not has changed in the 3 or so months i've had her.

I've recently started changing a few things, firstly

sprayed rear badges black,

Then just now i randomly decided to take all that black stuff off the door pillar, as it was all warped and most of it was hanging off

Still trying to decide whether to buy some more vinyl to stick on:err:

As i'm a student(poor) i can't really afford too much at the moment, but eventually i'm looking to either get a vts or stick a vts engine in this car.

But first things first, i need to get my dent repaired :panic:

:p

Saxy1 30th January 2008 18:52

that would probably need a new quarter panel mate.

paxo89 21st February 2008 17:00

Update

old grille

new grille !!!!

:p

Matty_VTR 21st February 2008 17:16

looking good.. i know what you mean about being a student, iv got so many plans for mine just don't have the cash.

At least your got a common colour so new panel will be easy to come across.

saxo19870 21st February 2008 17:38

nice looking car mate, better with the new grille!

(sorry if you have already said before!)

Hopcraft 21st February 2008 17:54

about a week after i got insured on it, i came out of school to find it with that huge dent in the side. no note or witnesses or anything, pretty gutting tbh. i have had the dent pulled out a bit, but the metal is stretched so it's not flat. haven't really got the money at the moment to get it filled/replaced.

SaxoJamie 21st February 2008 23:19

hope you get the dent sorted. Looks a nice sax apart from that. Grille looks loads better:y:

Wayne 21st February 2008 23:32

Saxo looks very tidy buddy:) hope the dent gets sorted very soon mate.

paxo89 25th February 2008 23:24

Right, picked up some vtr wheels yesterday for 35 quid lol. all tyres need replacing, but still a bargain imo.

then went to halfords today and spent 60 quid on paint etc, as i'm going to spray the wheels gloss black.

spent all day trying to strip the paint off one wheel  finally after using loads of sandpaper, and blistering all my fingers, i got it off and gave it a coat of etch primer.

I'm doing all this over the next few weeks, so hopefully i'll get a good finish when i'm done :y:

paxo89 25th February 2008 23:24

oh and i didn't bother masking the tyres as i'm going to replace them all once the wheels are painted.

lukedorritt 26th February 2008 23:44

yer this is a lovely motor.
proud to cruise along side it lol

DJ_Splitz 27th February 2008 12:50

lovely car apart from the dent. Im looking to spray my vtr wheels aswell... u should have used that acid stuff thats used to thoroughly clean ur wheels ;) I dont know what its called but ur only meant to put a little bit on your wheels and keep it on them for 5 mins max otherwise it will like burn the paint off. but if u are painting ur wheels then u want the paint to burn off ;) I still need to do mine but i need to be saving up... MOT in april :(

paxo89 27th February 2008 13:43

i used nitro mors paint stripper. followed the instructions on the tin and tbh i found that all it did was remove the clear coat and paint, the original primer wouldn't budge, so i had to sand that back, which hurt lol

paxo89 27th February 2008 15:59

school was cancelled today because of a power cut, so i spent all day cleaning, polishing and waxing the car:p

Also got my new smoked side repeaters :y:

and i finished spraying my first wheel, so i stuck it on the car to see how it looks :A:

jonesyFX 27th February 2008 16:05

looking good mate

Predator_R32 27th February 2008 16:10

yeah i let the air out of that tyre when i was going to put masking tape round them, but decided not to because the tyres need replacing.

Before

After

:A:

JessopVTS 3rd June 2008 21:54

how much did that set you back just out of curiosity?

Looks like a good job like, did they replace the panel, or did they pull the dent out, fill it and sand it back? hopefully it was a panel replacement, filler worries me =[ lol.

Nice wheels btw!

paxo89 3rd June 2008 22:18

well it cost me the best part of 500 quid :panic:. Im not 100% sure how they did it, but i dont think they replaced the panel because they had masked off inside the where the petrol filler cap is, and i would have thought that if it was a new panel they would spray it before they put it on the car? although that said they would have to weld the new panel in and then blend the weld in... who cares, its mint now and thats all that bothers me :D:D

paxo89 3rd June 2008 22:20

btw i sold those black wheels due to lack of money for tyres, however im incredibly tempted to spray my current wheels at some stage in the summer, but i would have to do them 1 at a time as i dont have a spare set :)

paxo89 19th December 2008 11:59

haven't updated this for a while :P
spent all morning today cleaning, sealing and waxing the car, just finished and my arm is killing me :homme:

Haven't really done much since my last update, most of my mods consist of spraying things black lol:P

Smoked my headlights, black chevrons, sprayed my wheels black, got smoked indicators off ebay, copied somebody off here and sprayed the bottom bit of the rear bumper black  my rear bumper is fucked anyway, i reversed into a lamp post and dented the bumper. i'm currently looking for a new rear bumper so i thought i'd spray the damaged one to see how it looks and i really like it. might get the new bumper professionally sprayed :P the tailgate also got damaged so i managed to get one off ebay, same colour with a mk1 spoiler for £30, not bad :P
stuck that on, had to swap everything over but decided to leave it de-wipered.
erm had it stripped out for most of the last month, but yesterday i took all the seats out, hoovered the carpet etc, found £3 under the runners of my drivers seat :P but i decided to put all the seats and stuff back in cos it was clutterin up my bedroom :P
future plans are few and far between really. im probably not going to do much more to this car, as im now 19 and will have 2 years ncb in july im planning on getting a vts and turning it into a track slag :P ideally i'd like to keep this car as a run around and only use the vts for track days, but money is an issue atm :n:
(sorry for the essay!)
:fcuk:
