Girlfriend Wants Some Help...
 
Hey guys, well the time has come where my girlfriend is starting to think she is fat!

As if in my opinion but she has her thoughts!

Anyways, she thinks she is gettin chunky around her thighs and bum and thinks she is getting over hang from her stomach area when she has her jeans on!

She is wanting to loose her so called "chunky" things, bum and belly but does not no how to go about it.

Ive told her to cut down on fatty foods, and excerise a little bit but she is wanting some more advice really!

Im no expert on how to loose weight, diets, tricks etc etc

Hopefully some of you on here may be able to give some help....

IMO she is just right but on the other hand i dont want her being upset and down about her weight.

Any help would be great!

just needs to do a bit of exercise and eat well, swimming or classes down the gym, thats what women love doing!

Sit ups
Running
Cycling

My GF uses it every other day, has smoothies and baked potatos for food and doesn't really eat any crap. She lost loads of weight with the DVD and even toned her stomach and legs up more :y:

Women are stupid, you will need to be the judge of whether she needs to lose weight or not and convince her. Gok Wan finds that motorboating a woman helps her feel better about herself. Also stripping her naked in her favorite shopping centre, or putting half naked photos of her up all over town too & stopping strangers in the street when your out walking and asking if they think she looks good.

Serious tbh my gf is a size 6 and thinks shes getting fat, they will never learn and the urge to believe they are getting fat will never fade away!

The last thing you want her doing is messing about with her weight or its goodbye boobs and bum :P

Situps will not get rid of excess fat - just tone the tummy. Abs are made in the kitchen, not in the gym! Get one of those exercise balls and you could both do some pilates. Job done!

Dont want you all really taking the piss!!!

And im hardly going to be posting pictures of my gf's legs and bum etc on this forum!!

Basically she is a size 12 and i think she wants to be around the 8-10 mark ok?

Dont let it get to you mate and dont let it get to her either, Just say tell her in your opinion shes fine but if she does want to lose weight you will support her either way, if anything if she wants to exircise do it with her, take up running, going to the gym together etc.

Its always easier when theres two when it comes to exircising :y:

Another way is to get Wii Fit if you have the Wii; a few lads on another forum have been suggesting different routines for it and use it every night for half hour or so..has been about two weeks now.

Plus it's an excuse to get a Wii ;)

When we are living in the type of world where in every magazine, every tv programme, every singer/band there are skinny girls who are "perfect" it is hard for realy women to look at themselves and think they look good compared to all the women we see day to day on tv etc.

How tall is your girlfriend? Because if she is tall then her height/weight ratio may be correct. If she gets thinner she may be classed as "underweight" depending on how tall she is.

If she is really bothered about her weight then she could always start dance classes or my friend has been doing pole dancing classes for a few months and that tones you up alot!!

Exercising doesnt have to be a chore it can be fun. Then if she cuts out eating between meals or replacing fatty foods with fruit then she can get to a good weight.

There are bulimics that think they're fat.. You know what women are like tbh..

But yeah, just cutting down on the chocolate and pies, along with a bit of cycling/jogging/situps will definatley do the trick.

As said above, don't let her think it's a big problem.. (as after all.. it's not). Maybe do it with her (gyms can sometimes be boring..) So, go for jogs and walks with her.

And as EH_Fella said, get a Wii. Expensive, but thoes things make you sweat like a pig (which is funny.. because pigs don't even have sweat glands)

Me and the misses have started only eating junk food one nite of the week and she joined my gym. We just got our own house so wer eating crap all the time lol
The cycling machines can work wonders on thighs and hips
If she feels hungry tell her to have fruit or water

if shes only a size 12 anyways you dont want to over-do it, eat less portions of good food, combined with fruit for snacks and drink plenty of water (at least 2 litres a day) as it does help tone when working out.. and just go swimming 3 times a week as swimming is fun so she wont think it to be a gruelling exercise, and it tones the whole body and works muscles that you cannot work any other way !!

give it a month or 2 and she will be a size 8-10 easily .... seriously make sure she doesnt go for these fast track fads as they dont work and cost alot of money!! or they will work but as soon as shes happy with her weight and cuts them off she will pile 2ce as much on (even eating well) as the body will have adapted to the artificial nutrients in the tablets / shakes or whatever!!

if you want a serious answer try this:

- reduce amount of alcohol consumption
- reduce junk food
- eat cereal bars rather than chocolate
- swap pasties for sanwiches
- try drinking water rather than eat food as it could be thirst playing tricks

do cardio at least 3x a week upto 45mins at a time where the pace is enough to hold a conversation at speed. jogging / cycling / cross trainer / rower / step machine.

not really much else at this point unti you can mention what she eats normally etc. hope it helps.

Hi, im phils gf, i have hijacked his computer,
i have just had a baby, and i go to the gym 3 times a week, but alot of the stuff can be done at home, the truth to weight loss is to get your heart rate going, so run till u feel like throwin up, or cycle, and no joke, sex!
to tone up, get a exercise ball and put it against the wall behind your back and do squats, also sit ups on it is great, lie on your back and act like your pedeling a bike, binging the other elbow to meet the opposite knee............
i have done really well in 6 months i am in to a 10, on my way back to an 8 :)

I have just been reading some of the comments & yes i have to agree that us women are never satisfied with our weight no matter how skinny we are/get we want to lose more, its the way we are :p i used to be terrible!!
i have always stayed the same weight apart from when i was pregnant of course, i have always ate loads of crap & it never touched me, it dont matter how many times my mates tell me i am lucky & my family tell me i am too skinny i still feel i would like to lose a bit of weight!! We always find something wrong :(

Im in the army and most of our boxers lose weight by going on 'sweat runs' basically going for a run with lots of (or warm) clothes on which... you guessed it makes you sweat! After they come back from the run they don't drink for about an hour your body then thinks 'oh krap i have no water' so it starts to burn off the fat. Im not saying don't drink for a whole hour but 20mins can have an affect.

Hope this short suggestion helps...

this sounds all too familiar, my gf is a geordie lass(nothing to do with it though) size 10-12 and thinks she is fat, recently she got her tongue pierced and she lost lots of weight due to not eating and she wants to do this again well just not eating.

personally i think she is being stupid, she is gorjus and looks gorjus always but why can you never persuade them.

admittedly she has got a tiny tiny bit bigger since we have met but non the less she is as beatiful now as she was when i met her.


to conclude mate all you have to do is try to persuade her that she is perfect and not fat. keep her self-esstem high and if you really think it best suggest you exersise together. i took her to the gym with me and she loved it, i get to be down the gym and with my girl. top dolla.
i dont think size 12 is big tbh and if she really really wants to loose weight just support her. thats all you can do.

off topic but my girl is back saturday and it will be great to see her, she will prob moan that she is burt, they are never happy you just got to say the right think and make the right noises,

and between me and you saxo89, goordie lasses are FIT!!!! lol

if your missuss is one of these people who cant be arsed to exercise alot of the time then may i suggest : crazy fit power plates. check em out on ebay. these plates vibrate and count calories and body mass etc. someone i work with has some and she has lost shit loads of weight. im planning on getting some when i move in my house. apparantly 10 mins on these is like 20 minutes workout at the gym and really tone up all your muscles. not so good if your into keeping fit and running and the healthy side of things but apparantly they are hard work and are really good.

Despite what someone said on this thread, situps will not exactly tone the stomach. The body burns fat from all over your body when exercising, the amount that it burns from each part is down to genetics.

Would somebody who only does situps have a small stomach and everything else fat? Of course not.

Losing weight is simple. Burn more calories than you take in. If each day you burn more calories than you eat then you WILL lose weight. There's no magic to it just eat healthily and exercise. It's as easy as that.

Most people will quickly get bored with running on the treadmill every night so look into doing a sport or something like swimming.

Drinking the right amount of water will help you lose weight. If you're getting enough water into your body then it won't feel the need to store excess water. If you don't drink enough then the body will store water.

Don't believe anything of the cheap gimmicks that you see that will help you lose X pounds in X days. Waste of time and money.
