anyone want cheap high quality comps?

well look no further:

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/pro...s_id/1167.html

these are great comps, i have fitted a set in a mates car and can back this up:)

im sure coonper, csvtr, and pred can all say that these possibly the best comps for under £50

just a little bit of info for all the guys i see posting comments about budget comps.. and thought id make everyone clear of the special offer that CAD are currently doing

also: anyone wanting a small budget amp with good quality to power these comps..

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/alpi...22-p-5748.html

something like this will do the job nicely :)

oh and yes.. the amp is underpowering the comps by 5wrms each.. but on a budget set up its all you need. and it will sound a LOT better than all coax speakers on the market within the same pricerange. and better than all comps within the same pricerange

hope that little bit of info helps anyone out who wants better sound for around £100

Coonper 18th December 2008 15:55

Yes, as said, i will definitely vouch for these comps.

They are well up there with some of the big named comps.

I ran mine in the saxo, with 150rms into each and they thrived off it! They never smelt and they still worked after a year. I gave them hell!!

that person wouldn't budge on the amp on ebay... so I may just buy that amp if it's recommended.

Still keeping an eye on that head unit too.... :)

headunit is awesome if you can get it :y:

mattbarnes34 18th December 2008 16:35

if you had these in the front of youur saxo would you bother putting them in the back 2 or just leave them standard as you wont hear them to much?
as the speakers are only £35 at the moment guess could put them front and rear then just have a sub also then sound system complete?

Mystic 18th December 2008 16:36

Also have these speakers atm and been puzzled about which amp to run with em, might just get this one now you've mentioned it! Cheers :A:

Predator_R32 18th December 2008 16:37

rear speakers arent needed in a small car like the saxo, the fronts are more than enough

nah.. never put rear speakers in a car.. all you need is a set of amped comps up front and a sub in the boot.. rear speakers ruin sound staging and SQ

no worries mate.. here to help :)

Mikol 18th December 2008 19:13

Wrong, the amp is overpowering by 15 RMS ;)

Those comps are 2 Ohm impendance, meaning the amp will be throwing 70W RMS at them :)

Sorry to be nit-picky, either way speakers can always handle more power :D

Noddy 18th December 2008 19:30

I'll vouch for the 507c's as well. They take a bashing very very well and some more. :y:

Barry123 18th December 2008 19:34

will there be overheating issues then?

manc 18th December 2008 19:56

Wow what an amazing price for such a highly recommeded set of component speakers, thanks for sharing the great price with us Ashleyp, wish I could afford both amp & speakers, think I'll be investing in aset of speakers now then save up for the amp at a later date.

ManC

Few pics to help people get an idea of what there getting.

davidandrews5343 18th December 2008 20:01

as i have mutant tweaters, kenwood crossovers and sony speakers i thought it was time for a change, so just orderd mine, thanks pred for mentioning about the discount, u just saved me £6.99

tuft 18th December 2008 22:42

just ordered the components and amp, they look good quality for the money. is there anythin else I need to get? wiring kit or sound deadening?

both ideally...cant remember which amp it was if it takes 4 gauge buy that if not 8 gauge... sound proofing will help stop rattles and produce a better woofer sound...

tuft 18th December 2008 23:09

is it easier to sound proof when u install the speakers or can you go back at a later date and sound proof?

Stickyjam 18th December 2008 23:17

i would of done it while youve got the door card off first time round...

tuft 18th December 2008 23:24

sounds logical, cheers mate. is wiring the amp and components up/fittin tweeters fairly straight forward then or can it be quite complicated?

mattbarnes34 18th December 2008 23:32

cheers mate im going to get some
everyone says they are really good cheers for advice people!

Been doing my research on these :afro:

Looks like I'll be joining the purchasers if funds hold out for the next few days.

manc 23rd December 2008 21:01

My GTO507c arrived this morning, well happy, thought it wouldnt be till the new year.

Implicable service from Car Audio Direct, i ticked the 'text me updates' button which is free during the order, didnt expect it to work but it did, got text when it shipped and when it should be delivered which was accurate, highly recommend anyone ordering from Car Audio Direct :y:

Has anyone else had their's yet?

ManC

Ashleyp 23rd December 2008 21:03

Would you mind measuring the amp for us (width & depth), I'm curious to know if it will fit under the passenger seat.

Thanks.
