*webby's progress thread FOR SALE*

right gang i thought i may aswell crack on with a progress thread.

picked up my car towards the end of jan and was insured on it from the feb 1st.

so far im loving it quick handles great altough i personally think underdamped on the rear causing it to be a bit bouncey.

it came with a piper-x open induction kit on which is now off other than that its standard.

dont have any pictures from when i picked it up. this is how it is now after a good wash.

the bonnet polished with just mer (stuff i had lying around)

same area done with mer AG EGP and topped off with simonez hard wax.

and an AshleyP inspired shot

i have already done a few touches, i have fitted some pressed plates and also a small saxp sticker.

future plans:

Rebush the whole car using a combination off polyurathene and standard and hard rubber mounts.

lower it 25mm on konis. not into the on your arse look. plus without uprating torsion bars dont want to cause added understeer

modify the standard airbox so airflow is a smooth as possible.

custom quite stainless exhaust and fanny mould.

short shift.

refurb then polished wheels.

wind deflectors

dewiper and de areial using ax bits (thanks willsy for the part numbers)

new interior i ripped it on day 2 with a stud on my jeans.

paint rocker covers and fill and paint coil pack cover.

fit some decent rubber falken 912 i think.

Full detail when i get my megs DA and other assorted goodies.

i'm going for a nice satndard-ish road car, hard suspension on the roads is not good. i may do a blast up a couple of hillclimbs and sprints for fun nothing more.

i will update as i go.

any ways all coments welcome!

yeah you can see were i have already attempted with a little autosol and scotch brite pad. alot of hard work.

this set im going to paint body colour and a spare im going to polish.

webby 11th April 2009 19:11

well i followed the coil pack guide to gospel but guess what. the filler cracked and the paint lifted:wall:. nm though, i will have another go. but what annoys me is i didnt use cheap spray can paint i used 2k from a hvlp gravity gun. i used plastic primer. ahh well.:fcuk:

anyways the few bits i have done since last time. :A:

1. laid down my stereo cables with the exception of my 0 gauge.
2. got the speaker wires in for my front speakers.
3. fitted some cold air feed pipe to the standard scoop on the front, before it was just running a standard open airbox, its made it alot quiter and i like it for it:wacko:
no pictures yet of that.

today i did:

1. i ordered and fitted my dewiper using proper parts not a boot grommit lol.

2. fitted my de-aerial radio reception hasnt really suffered but you can tell a bit.

3. Fitted my volt meter so when i am up and booming i can keep an eye on my voltage to make sure everything is ok. i have wired the turn on into the remote so it turns on with the amps but it still picks its readings up from the back, so its give me a good indication of how things are in the boot.

comment welcome as always people:y::afro:

webby 9th May 2009 17:22

here is a picture of my current induction set-up. can tell no difference between that and the piper-x i had fitted. it is very quite so i am moving on to yet another one hopefully before fcs.

3cott 9th May 2009 17:28

Nice work webby:y:

webby 9th May 2009 17:33

catch can making

well when i change my induction set up again i am going to be running a catch can. but me being poor i wasnt going to pay for one so que the photo's

one full can of brake fluid

5 mins under a wire wheels and 10mins polishing with some autosol.

i then decided i wanted the top satin black. so 2mins masking up the polished bits and a couple of coats left me with this.

dont worry the brake fluid went straight into the river:y: and i washed the can out before hand.

cost: about 20p for the solvol.

i will plumb the feed in the top and drill a couple of vent holes. :)

yeah i was going to do it with an empty polish bottle but i thought that was too ghetto

webby 7th July 2009 22:59

update:

not done this in a while so here we go.

first of all i got the -35mm apex kit. a good kit and i am really impressed with it for the money.
fitted new top mounts.
standard discs and mitex pads all round.
a full set of T1R's which are very good imo.
i fitted my momo wheel and a snap off boss so no sod can steal it easily, it has also brought the wheel higher and closer making the driving position excelent. :y:
fitted my carbon induction kit and catch can.
fitted my custom exhaust. its 2" pipework and a 2.5" outwardly rolled tip in stainless.
then i spent alot of time cleaning it.
I am still not happy and the paint is very thin so it will be going in for a respray over winter in the same coulour. i am getting 3/4 coats of clear done so i can cut back into it and really bring it up glossy.

and lastly all done lowerd, new tyres, brakes etc

the exhaust is loud but not offensive (sp)

imo the car is too low so i am getting some custom springs made that will bring it up 15mm not a massive difference but enough plus they will be uprated.

plans now are:

making a custom lower strut brace becasue i can and have too much spare time on my hands lol.
then wait untill winter when its off the road and i can sort it properly but it will be back in april as a new beast. im not 100% on the plans but it should be good.

enjoy y'all

C+C's

it looks ok in that pic but the paint is shocking no swirls but full of deep scratches like its been driven past a bush alot. and the paint is too thin to use a harsher compound.

saxokid100 8th July 2009 20:55

comming along nicely dude............................:p:p

Ashleyp 8th July 2009 23:37

im selling the T410 soonish man ;)

Wizzy 8th July 2009 23:50

Looks good. I like the homemade catch tank, good idea :y:

Lippy 21st July 2009 00:07

how did you do the cables through the front doors? im doing this myself at the moment but failing to find the channel behind the spare plug slots that I drilled out... couldnt really see properly as was night time.
Did you use the standard plug or pummel holes in the car door and shell? piccys would be great!
Cheers
