Is this sad or not...

was out the other day with my mate and i saw a man with his son who looked about 5 or 6, they were wearing subaru jackets exactly the same just different sizes obviously lol...

now i thought it was a little bit sad tbh, however my mate thought it was okay if he owned a subaru..which we never found out.

would you do it, both your and your nipper in saxo gear???

Lozzy_vtr 28th April 2009 11:36

i would :P
but obviously its saxos not subaru haha

Maxamus 28th April 2009 11:37

LOL id only ever do it at a car show or event of some sort never just out and about. Put a poll up for Sad or Not Sad :P

mattzsaxvtr 28th April 2009 11:39

no theres a subaru meet everyweek near me and they all stand around fully kitted in subaru clothes, they look like right tits, cant help but laugh and point at them when i see em all

Jorge- 28th April 2009 11:39

I bet his kid loves his dads Scooby or something, probably something really nice behind it and your just thinking 'oh they look like dicks'

If I wanted to tell the world I have no aspirations in my motoring life then yeah I'd wear saxo gear...

*puts in an order*

Mikey 28th April 2009 11:40

but the kid looked young man., i dont even think he would know what a subaru was mate.

Jamie 28th April 2009 11:41

No not for any car, Ferrari trainers ftw + 20bhp when used with Ferrari pedals ;)

Mikey 28th April 2009 11:42

ive seen a ferrari guy do this to. years ago he had his son waxing his 355 lol, at a local show to me...i remember thinking must be a slave child..

you boy clean the horse..

Jazz 28th April 2009 11:43

Maybe his dad is a massive Subaru fan and his nipper loves it when daddy straps him in and revs that flat 4 engine lol... or maybe they're wearing it as a Richard Burns/McRae tribute or something.

lisa-vtr 28th April 2009 11:48

I seen this guy in a nissan jacket once... thought that was gay... he probably owned a micra

leeroybrown 28th April 2009 11:48

I have a Subaru jacket and soon to have one will be my little niece, they are good coats keep you really warm

Chuffy 28th April 2009 11:49

I think I can put my hand on my heart and say I would never wear a motorsports jacket even if I had the car to match.

See a guy down my local sometimes with a BMW jacket and he drives a Punto.

Barry123 28th April 2009 11:50

mate of mine wears a Panasonic Toyota Jacket....

James_Skylit 28th April 2009 11:51

I dont think its sad IMO, maybe his son loves car and aspires to be like his dad.

Dont judge a book by its cover as they say :P

djflipsaxo 28th April 2009 11:52

i think that any child growing up around a car enthisiast will know what different cars are tbh.
my son loves his cars and he oves driving them with us, hes only a year and a half.

i think dads share there passions with there sons, its natural.

i wouldnt think twice if i saw it.

soon my son will be out with his dad in his own overals, just like his dad,

Mikey 28th April 2009 11:54

im not buying this passion at a young age thing, when your young you like things and hate it the week after lol.

but if your bought up with cars, lorries, bikes etc etc around you, you know nothing different,
once a child becomes a certain age they can change there minds but id say its more likely for them to be in to it.

like my fella, his dads in to cars etc etc, hes well in to them now, more than his dad. my son now prefures to get the tools out the garage and pretend hes helping his dad, its what little boys do

Mikey 28th April 2009 11:59

i can see the point on playing with your dads tools and shit, i did the same at my dads garage, probably why im into cars..

just dont get the car jackets..i think there wierd, what do they actually show..you own a car?

djflipsaxo 28th April 2009 12:00

personally i dont have one, you dont have to be an enthusiast to own a car...

Thats not completely true Mikey, i was obbsessed with cars from a young age, regulary told to shut the fek up about cars, i used to collect and search for the cars i wanted in toys aswell, struggled to buy me a scooby regular size car infact never did get it :( anyway, i was brought up knowing cars,

My Uncle was always working on his MK2 Escort & my mum forever buying quick cars!

I love cars and sadly most of my convos still start with a car :S :geek:

Mikey 28th April 2009 12:01

Haha, it was useful. ;)

Danr 28th April 2009 12:08

The son won't have a clue about the car, well i very much doubt it but i bet he loves looking like his dad. Most kids love their dads to bits until they are old enough to realise they are all mean old bastards.

I hate my love for cars though it really distracts me from work!

But i canny help myself lol

Mikey 28th April 2009 12:09

Jazz 28th April 2009 12:14

Mikey 28th April 2009 12:15

furiomike 28th April 2009 12:40

no offence but any clothing that says vauxhall on is pretty sad.

im sure most vauxhall owners are more likely to debage their car rather than badge up their clothing.
