Another police/crackdown rant.
Okay.. I'm sure this has been covered plenty of times but why is it that the police (From what I know of our local force) are cracking down harder on young car enthusiasts than potentially dangerous criminals?
I mean.. I can understand if people are sitting in a Focus car park shredding tyres and screeching off into the sunset, but, why do the police constantly hastle and "move on" innocent enthusiasts. How many people here have been stopped and had their car searched by officers when they've done nothing wrong. It's this stereotype that every enthusiast or ''youth'' is a potentially lethal boy racer. The difference between enthusiast and thug needs to be made totally clear. A spoiler, a bumper, a new set of rims. None of the following should suddenly drop you into the same class as these "write-off merchants". :wall: There must be something that the "modding" community can do to prove to these narrow-minded enforcers that we're not all out to bald the tyres on every corner. Anyone else agree? :y: |
fact is, most modders are tyre shreading idiots.
|
Noise pollution?
|
must be the 1.1 and 1.0 owners that are tyre shredders haha
|
1 car park in every town designated to the Modding communitiy where we can admire each others creations and have a chinwag. is thats o much to ask of our government :P

Look at this site though.. This is a perfect example of how all modders aint idiots.
I mean.. Look at Simo.. He created a whole f*cking site and did a bloody good job with it too. Lol. :y: Also.. A lot of the posters on here are actually fairly intelligent. :y: They need to learn.. We're not all "McDonalds-Parkin' Burnout-Bandits" Haha. |
Never been pulled over or anything.
I like my police force |
Sounds like a kids tv show :P
|
Lol. And exactly Maxamus.
Why can't they give us a designated area to "get the turbo oot"? Haha. Nah but seriously... A place that we can all sit and have a good bit o' banter. No.. Instead.. They'll just keep moving us on so we've got to constantly jump from car-park to car-park. :n: |
Lol. That post was in reference to the post before your last.. Before people think I'm having conversation with myself. :y:
|
At Wyvern in Derby there seems to be quite a lot of people, both enthusiasts and chavvy dicks. People drifting, playing music etc.. not much police action.

Moddings a hobby for some peeps but not everyone can or wants to take there car to a big show a few times a year. I dont see a problem if everyones behaving. plus if the car doesnt have a "No Loitering" sign then the law is on your side :P

You're right.. Some burnt car park tarmac is so much more important than your child's safety. Daftys like. :y: |
never been pulled ever :-) woooo
|
Never been pulled over in 18 months of driving and it's not like my car doesn't stand out. It's down to the driver and the car imo, if police see a dirty modded car they are going to pull it.. if they see a clean and looked after car they wont bother as they can expect that everything is in order
|
tbh few people i knew were having this problem. about 20 of them loved to just meet up and chat. same police officer told them to move along everytime they found somewhere to park and chat, like he was following them. police need to know that eventually people will have had enough of it and take into their own hands.
on about the 9th time this same officer pulled on to the car park they were on they all got out the car when he got out his, walked over (20 big chaps lol) and tipped his car on its side:n: not good EDIT: Also speaking to an ex-police officer this morning who deals with our IT. Sound bloke, told him ive had a few problems with police because i drive a saxo. He told me when he used to be on duty with his fellow officers they would play snooker if they were bored. they would pull a car over (usually for no reason) and jot down the colour of the car they pulled. when they got back to the station each patrol car would tally the points and see who won...no bullshit |
Got pulled when I was 17 ... Haven't been stopped for 4 years now and been rocking French Plates for the last 16 months ... I WIN!
* Touches lots of wood * |
Ha. I think there should be some sort of protest. Imagine what you could do to a police force if hundreds of modded drivers just parked up right outside the biggest police station in their country.
Just sat there. Lol. That'd actually be a really funny site. ●/ Hands up if you think.. /▌ These cops really need.. / \ To get a life. Haha. |
^ Obviously not serious before I get leaped on for trying to be some sort of revolutionary. :y:

Yeah but Maxamus. Just imagine what they 'could' do.
Start impoundin' as many cars as they can fit on a lorry. :n: Sayin' that. I still think the thought of hundreds of modders sat makin' a statement would be pretty cool. :y: xD |
Got pulled last month. Me and some mates where in a car park chating, and 2 police cars drove in and searched us and are cars because they suspected a drug deal going on!!! I asked them why they thought this and they said it was because of the cars!! Since when does a drug dealer drive round in a blue saxo with white wheels!!!! lol sorry for the rant!!
|
Haha. Drug dealer's cars:BMWs
Range Rovers :y: |

That quote in your message thing is brilliant Btw!! |
Sig? I should have put a lot more into it tbh now looking back.
|
Lol. I've done a few rants myself. 'Net Rantin' FTW! ;)
Haha. |
Other day my step dad whos a copper said something pretty interesting.
Was basically most the modified drivers he has seen have been pretty sensible because who spends £1000's on there car and then rags the shit out of it and destroys it. |
Agree with mikey.
And I've never been pulled, bar the time I was lost in leicester and the officer just helped me out. As stated it depends on the driver and the cars visual appearance. The police haven't done anything wrong in my eyes, sitting in a car park and blipping the exhaust every 5 seconds is known as disturbing the peace so it's inevitable that they'll do something :err: (I'm not stating that you've done this but someone always does it) There are too many prats on the road in all fairness. |
Anti-social behaviour is what police are cracking down on and unfortunately the 'modders' that sit there revving and being twats are included
