Citroen Saxo 1.1i SX In Calypso Green Progress Thread!
Okay after me making numerous threads asking for help and information i though i would finally start my own progress thread seeing as my car.. horrible as it looks.. needs alot done to it.
Just as a side note, anyone that lives around my area is free to come and help me sort out this car such as installing. Im trying not to sound lazy here but in not much of a petrolhead so i dont have that much knowledge about cars. Purchased the Citroen Saxo for £500 from a family friend with nearly 86k on the clock. They gave me back £50 to change the rear tyres (( Getting close to 1.6mm )). ![]() ![]() ![]() So as you can see from these pictures the car looks pretty bare. They were kind enough to get it proffesionally polished and cleaned for me before giving it to me so that saved alot of time. As soon as i got the beast i set off to work on attempting to make it look slightly better. ![]() First things first i replaced the side indicator which got smashed off in an unfortunate reversing accident.. and T-Cut the rear badges. I also debadged the SX off. ![]() Gave the trim a good polish with some "Back 2 Black" and got rid of a few dirt marks around the badges off with a cotton bud. Thats all i got so far seeing as i've only officially had the car a day or two so more will be coming, stay tuned peeps! x :y: |
What else have you got planned to do then mate?:y:

Just checked, they use fucking 3 studs.
HELP. |
there is a few different sets of 3 stud alloys available.... you even get multi-spokes which look pretty decent...
personally id go for the raceland 5 spokes :y: |
Aye it'll be a 3 stud unfortunatly! This is what you should do IMO.
1. MK2 rear lights to freshen the rear end up. 2. Dewiper. 3. Colour coded wing mirrors 4. Smaller ariel 5. Get all the bump strips, door handles, grill and bootlid lip colour coded. 6. Some nice 15" alloys (3 stud, and yes it can be done!) 7. 50mm lowering springs for the front, torsion bar adjusted to match 8. Clear side repeaters. Then your onto a smart looking car. All that can be easily done for way less than your budget. |

Been having some trouble getting the old ariel off and ran out of time..
Got work in an hour.. So i gave up for the meantime.. The problem is getting the right fixture to unscrew the original ariel from under the interior light.. If anyone has any tools i can borrow or they can do it for me let me know.. As for the sticker its on and is looking good. ![]() I also just realised that the speakers in the back parcel shelf are Kenwood 6x9s.. Thankyou Previous Owners :P ![]() |
And yes I know about the slight dent in the rear bumper..
|
New 2 and a half inch bee stings ariel has been fitted and have purchased a Sportex 3 or 4inch backbox and am waiting for it in the post..

Not at the moment, i am nearing the end of the learners insurance and getting close to my test date.. Once i've passed my test and im insured i'll start doing F**k loads to it.
Ended up burning the clutch going up a hill today so i might been a new clutch as the bite is pretty damn high.. Takes a while to start so im thinking spark plugs may need replacing... |

Pics of my new ariel are coming up in a few mins and i've just got my Sportex backbox in the post.. How would the old one be taken off? Does it just slide off or does it need cutting off? And does the new one need welding on? |
get some pliers on the old aerial and it'll crack once its lose cos it'll more than likely have lock glue on it as mine did, once i had a good grip on it, it came off easy. and got the same new aerial as u so it def fits, but also put locktight on it too, so no one nicks it
|
my airel just unscrewed and the new 1 scrwed in, duno if its different on a mk1 tho because i got a mark 2
