You could get a manifold, and and exhaust, but not much is going to make it quick mate. Wait for a VTR engine or VTS engine to drop in :y:
|
Any reason for the size 100 text?
Welcome mate, I've got a Desire as well - best I can say is new backbox and exhaust, induction kit, air filters, drop valves - theres loads you can do, but insurance will hate you at our age when we start modding the engine, may as well wait until you've got some NCB and then get a VTR :) |
i cant get a vtr or vts engine cuz i'd get rap€d by insurance if i crash and im insurance is already sky high, my mate said iif i rip out all my plastic air filter shit it will sound beefy wud that fhk my car after a while ?

Leave standard air filter in, its better than an induction kit without good air intake routing. |
how much would a induction kit cost and what will a new black box do ?
im learnin carpentry in college so im abit shit with my car mods :D and also what type of exhaust should i get? |
would taking my airfilter pipes heading away from my engine mess my car up?
|
Just leave it tbh.
As said, get some ncb and get a VTR/S |
If I could go back in time I would of listened to my Mum and bought a £500 run around. Then saved/built up NCB for a much better car than what I have now..
Be that guy dude. Be sensible for now ;) |

4k on my VTR back then and then around 1k on mods. After a year I duffed it. And was TPFT! Ouch :( Worst thing is, it looked shit too. |
if i were you dude i would just drop a back box on.
like ever1 else said just save up or you us the car te build on. make it to how you want it. because i think that the vtr and 1.1 have the same shell correct me if im wrong any1 |

but if you dont put the effort in you never will get the car you build.
its all the fun, rip a car to bits then slowly re build them :D well mines in working progress :D |
keep it standard,no point at all doing anything.

you are write and is the more sensibly option and wen i look back il probley think why did i do that |
Reality is if you take than option you will be better off in the future car wise. Will have more options available and more cash to spend.
|

theyre slow dont do anything to it atall |

ive got a pipercross induction kit nearly brand new in box if you want it its for a saxo 1.1 desire ill take £50 posted for it mate let iz know |

just leave your 1.1 alone, it'll never be quick, or be a vtr unless you put a vtr engine in, which would then make your insurance go through the roof as youve already said and to the guy above, piperX filters decrease engine power usually ;) |
as above the only way to make a 1.1 fast is put a bigger engine in it 1.1 are shit to mod i spent a grand on mine and i saw 1bhp if that there is no point just save with the mpg and get a vts soon
|
To be totally honest... What're you expecting from a 1.1?
If you wanted speed.. You should've bought another car. If you just wanted a little run-a-round, you've got spot on with this motor. Just leave it alone, get it looking good and wait until you're old enough to ensure somethin' quicker. |
i'd wait to get a better car if i was you, but if u definately want to make some small mods. i would get an upgraded panel filter piper x or something similar. that way it will fit as an exact replacement inside ur original filter housing and insurance company won't know. some of them can increase air flow up to 25%. back box mebies a piper 3" outward rolled?? or a powerflow 3.5 outward rolled :y:
