Here is my progress thread of my 02' Desire bought with 29k in october 09'.

Im hoping to get some black alloys in the near future and im considering a new Head unit, tinted windows and a sports back box.

get rid of lexus lights and get some vts alloys slamm it then awesome

has potential :y: I think you should get rid of the lights and the rear wiper and it be much better. the grill looks good and sounds like a good first car, low miles too :)

Cheers, im desperatly looking for a job and ill be shure to spend a fair bit of money on it. What kind of money should i pay for some jewels or standard lights?

Also, can anyone reccommend cheap alloys? Im kind of skint and would appreciate your effort :)

Ok, so ive got a few small updates if anyone cares :P

Ive bought a bargain set of alloys im picking up tomorrow for £40. Theyre 5 spoke 15" in decent nick but im painting them black over the next few weeks.

Anyway, I resprayed the lexus lights darker to hide the shame (Joke :P) and ive lightly tinted the fogs. And finally i put a 9cm bee sting on the roof :)

Id love to but because ithe lexus lights dont have reflectors they require refectors elswere :wall:

Im hopefully gonna invest in new lights so i can ditch the reflectors :P

nice car buddy looks good so far, as someone has said take the wee reflector's the rear bumper, not terribley(sp) keen on the rear lights, but if you like them stick with them


vtr alloys should be cheap enough, be an obvious choice, scrappies would be a place to start and on here

check jules's progress thread aswell she has a silver saxo :y:

Cheers for everything guys, ive just picked up a set of TSW 15" alloys for £40 with tyres. Bargain, im going to spray them black, ill put some pics up soon. Im also in the process of spraying my interior trim silver.

looking good mate! i would lose the rear lights though and definitely go for smoked jewels...you can expect to pay around £35-£40 for them on ebay, in answer to your previous question in post #5 ;)

Hehe, thanks, ive just finished refurbing the alloys, im gonna get the locking nuts over the weekend and i think i need to replace 1 tyre. After that im back to saving up :P

Finally got round to posting an update, ive got my TSW 15's on now. Looks pretty sweet IMO, but its the green valve covers that make it :P





I think im going to paint the drums and calipers lime green next.

remove the reflectors on the bumper though :P and lower would finish it off nicely imo

Cheers for all the comments guys, mite be getting the spoiler soon. The reflectors are mandatory because lexus lights have no reflectors. Im gonna get some jewels or normals lights.

Thanks, yea theyre gonna wear badly, they are exposed badly to curbing =/

Mite end up needing another refurb before i sell.

Just putting this out there to anyone. I was thinking i may do a straight swap for some VTR's in decent nick with decent tyres if anyone was interested. Just a thought.

P.S. Ill get some pics of the calipers and drums in the light tomorrow.

hom much did you pay for yours inc cost of refurbing them urself?

I bought them for £40 off ebay picked em up nearby. About £25 on paint and filler, then a tyre cost £25 so totaled up: £90. Considering the all the tyres are immaculate and the wheels are in great condition i reckon theyre worth more.

Hey Tom, just out of interest did you pay much extra on your insurance for lowering your car?

P.S. Just bought yellow rim tape, will be putting that on soon and ill upload some pics of the calipers/drums.
