Exhausts on a low budget?

Bascially i have a Mk 2 Saxo Vtr with a standard exhaust system, i was just wondering whats the best exhaust to get with a low budget and also fitting aswell im looking at around £150 to spend! can anyone give me any ideas?
nice 1

Lewis1600 19th January 2010 14:50

Full exhaust system? or cat back? or back box??

jordannicholls 19th January 2010 14:52

im feeling just the backbox because i aint really got alot of money to spend

sir_dave 19th January 2010 14:53

You can get a full exhaust (manifold back) 2nd hand for that quite easily ...

My Magnex inc. decat was £120 for example.

jordannicholls 19th January 2010 14:54

i dont want a de-cat though and im not sure where my cat is on my car? maybe just get a backbox but the problem is fitting it?

Lewis1600 19th January 2010 14:57

get a second hand saxo one.. look in the forsale section when you have a 100 posts.

Or try and find a company round your area that does exhausts.

Btw your cat will most likely be in the manifold (mk 2)

The de-cat is a seperate part, i have the cat in at the mo.

My point was for £150 you can buy a full system, not just a backbox lol.

jordannicholls 19th January 2010 15:01

yehyeh ill have to have a look around! cheers boys

Ashleyp 19th January 2010 15:03

jordannicholls 19th January 2010 15:05

Ashleyp 19th January 2010 15:08

Indeed, when I first joined he had a pop at me thinking I knew nothing. Soon changed.

Noddy 19th January 2010 16:02

Jordan, your cat would be in the manifold as its a mk2. I've got a complete magnex system that i can even fit for you with the option of a silenced or unsilenced centre for £200. I know its a bit over your budget for that you're getting a full system plus the choice of centres and fitting.

JamesR 19th January 2010 16:03

Sportex - 3" - £87 brand new

It's true, people on the internet scare me.

spazP, the primary school of forums, for those unable to navigate their way around the internet.

Noddy 19th January 2010 16:47

yep i can do indeed. If you're free tomorrow, you can pop to mine and i can get it sorted. I need to buy one new clamp and gasket for fitting. You can choose which centre you would prefer and the other i'll be puting on my cousins car as he's not too fussed which he has.

and yes this is a cat back system from the manifold joint right through to the rear.

hahaha jordan thats a deal and a half on your part ;)

jeffchiz 20th January 2010 15:55

the reason why people are getting uptight lately becaue people like ashleyp and others spend time writing up guides and people ignore them and ask questions anyway, also the same questions come up time and time again in the same day yesterday sparco_tom told 6 people whats the best airfilter to go for when they could have just looked in the faqs and guides, people who have all this knowledge will soon stop giving people advise as they repeat them selves so much , i know this is different to posting something in the wrong section but the sections are clearly labled, im no saint ive done it on a few occassions and started pointless threads by accident, just warning you that members who can be very useful to you in solving your problems are getting a bit touchy with certain things

moxy89 20th January 2010 16:00

ash just said that he posted it in the wrong section he did..... what your point if people read the rules before. just posting everywhere making the forum full of junk when it not needed

Sparco_Tom 20th January 2010 16:01

yer was 6times in under 4 hours i said exactly the same thing. It just gets annoying after awhile.

Jo3fish 20th January 2010 16:21

I can perfectly understand why some people get slightly irritated when stuff like this happens, the people who are on here providing the most help/guidance.

Just trying to keep the forums tidy and organised, makes it easier for everyone to use.

second hand supersprint.

If you have the mk2 with the 3plug ecu, you will need the manifold back centre pipe.

The reason for this is the cat convertor is in the downpipe from the manifold.

If you have the single plug mk2 then you have a choice, manifold back which will remove the cat, or the cat back pipe which will leave the cat in place and pass an mot.

Then get a 2inch supersprint backbox.

Can always pick them up cheap from somewhere.

Could get a magnex but i think they sound wank, sounds nowt nor somthing....

www.youtube.com/stevevts video of mine on there somewhere from the olde days.
