Saaamon 25th February 2010 18:46

Dont think they fit mate (going from another thread that was up not so long ago). TRS do decent tow eyes, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TRS-tow-eye-lo...item2a05017d43

Nobody know ? = (

craig180 25th February 2010 22:18

Have your original tow eye powder coated. That's what I did on my old black/orange one

shaunsvtr 25th February 2010 22:31

ring them up and ask them m8 they will be able to tell ya pal

paulydixon 25th February 2010 22:38

My friend is on making a batch of these to suite the saxo.

I gave hime my towing eye and a whole bunch of dimentions, as i think the OE one is too long to run around with on a permanent basis.

He makes them all for the clio boys too so he knows what he's doing!

Left: standard saxo Right: his version for the meagne

Should be getting a prototype in a week or so to try on the saxo to check it fits ok, then, mass production!

If anyone is interested give me a shout :)

They look a damn sight neater than the straps

paulydixon 20th March 2010 11:42

Done: :)

shaunsvtr 20th March 2010 11:46

is that car in your room lol

paulydixon 20th March 2010 11:47

Yup! :D

Paul 20th March 2010 12:30

Does he have any more forsale?

GoochyBoy 20th March 2010 12:38

No idea about the eye mate but...how do you have a car in your room ??

Maxwell 20th March 2010 12:40

paul i love your garage/room lol

how much is your mate pricing his saxo ones at?

pm me a price!

paulydixon 20th March 2010 12:43

They're priced at £30.

This one was a prototype so we could get the dimensions/threads etc sorted out. I'm happy with how it looks, when you consider how far the OE one pokes out, this is shorter and neater.

Standard on the wifes car

So we took that one, measure how far it stuck out, and reduced it accordingly

And that's the finished size ^

Long enough to fully clear the bumper, yet short enough to not look shit :)

They're tested to 3 tonnes, which is where the ring begins to deform.

So more than capable of supporting a saxo! The OMP ones are thinner, so must be more likely to bend?

If people are interested then get some names together and i'll sort them out :)

Paul 20th March 2010 13:19

Put my name down (get me a price first like lol)

1. Paul

paulydixon 20th March 2010 13:24

It's deffo £30 posted.

That's working on a £3 first class recorded delivery and obviously you pay the other £27 for the tow hook itself.

I've seen a few people on here asking about them so i'll start a proper thread in the for sale section and bump any of the threads where people are interested? :)

Paul 20th March 2010 13:26

Yeah put my name in the forsale thread when you've made one.

Any chance of discount if we get like 10+ ?

owen92 20th March 2010 13:26

Ill almost definitely take one!

Been toying with the idea of a strap for a while, but these look real neat!

paulydixon 20th March 2010 13:28

The thing is he'd only make them if we got 10 - 20 people interested anyway. And at £27 I don't actually think he makes much on them after materials etc :(

Paul 20th March 2010 13:35

Ah okie, well £30 isnt a bad price really anyway :y:

paulydixon 20th March 2010 14:15

My thoughts exactly!
