Saxo 1100 Progress SaxSpeed

Bought the saxo last week n done a few things so far

Firstly its a Forte 1.1 2002
with 38k on the clock,

Got hold of it for £850 so thats great

Fairly Standerd so far so first of all so did some free modifications

De-Wiper
Fairly Easy jus took the back panel off the boot removed the screws and bolts holding the wiper motor in and fitted a 22mm Blanking off Gromit.

T-Cut Badges
Really easy just get some T-Cut and go over the badges really nuting else to it.

De-Badge
Just poured some boiling hot water over the "forte" Badges on eather side and then sliped a credit card down the back and once they wer off i went over it with some t-cut to polish it up.

De-Cat
Took the 4 bolts off the heat sheild, and uncliped the 2 lambda sensors then toot the 2 clips off the top of the radiator, diconected the bottom hose and draind the water. Then took the 2 bolts out of the exhaust joining the downpipe to the piupe going to the backbox. Then took out the 8 bolts holding the manifold on and then finaly took out the bolt onto the gearbox.

Jack the front of the car up and take it out in one. Then i seperated the manifold from the cat, knocked the ceramic plates out of it then rebuilt the car back up.

Get a nice whine out of it and it will make do for the moment.

Getting a Full VT Bodykit, Dimma Grill, M3 mirrors and more on thursday, will let you know how it goes,

sorry if youv seen this post before just couldnt get the pictures to load

J222JRA 8th March 2010 22:10

Moved to where all progress threads should be buddy.

Thanks

johnlambert 8th March 2010 22:14

plans sound good man.

personally i wouldn get m3 mirrors...you cant see shit out of them.
keep standards.

SaxSpeed 9th March 2010 13:36

you know how if you tint the reflectors in your lights its illegal?
coukld you not tint them then put other reflectors on like a strip along the bottom of the boot?

lyndon 9th March 2010 13:40

Yeah that's what you get with most aftermarket lights, looks pants though imo

SaxSpeed 9th March 2010 15:04

owell ill just tint the lights n nt bother lolz if i get stoped i cn always just say i had reflector but they fell of lol

SaxSpeed 12th March 2010 18:44

Got a set of O.Z Racing 16" Superleggera alloys n refurbd them black will have pics up soon :D

SaxSpeed 15th March 2010 22:12

Mesh Grill
Got my grill meshed today, just took the bolts on the back out cut the slats out of it cut the mesh to fit in the back of it then joind it all back together

O.Z Ultraleggra alloys
these are great bought them from the srcapys for £20 each and considering they rrp is £425 each thats a great saving lol, first off all i sanded down the alloys getting rid of any rubish on them

Then Primerd them with 2 coats then put a coat of black paint on them

[I]Once they were dry i gave them a couple of coats of laquer and there they are[/U]:D

SaxSpeed 15th March 2010 22:13

What use think of a blue pinstripe round the outside a vtr kit and tint the rar lights?

S8TTG 15th March 2010 22:18

i love the ultra's!!!!!!!! I think they looked nice in matt black though!!

markvts 15th March 2010 22:26

you've done a nice job on them rims mate:A:

SaxSpeed 15th March 2010 22:27

yeh there not as shiney as they look in that picture lol

katie_02furio 16th March 2010 00:58

Great job on the alloys! :)

SaxSpeed 26th March 2010 17:55

Rite got some more stuff done now to the saxo, havent had time to fit the ultralegras yet though

Tint Headlights
Basicly unbolt the headlight, 3 bolts then remove the bulbs. Now heat the lights in a oven to melt the glue, once seperated sand the plastic suround the coluor of your choice after you have primerd them, once dry re-melt the glue insert the suround and refit.

Tinting Rear lights and Indicators
[I]remove the one thumb screw on the rear of the rear light and then unclip the wireing and disconect, once apart all you do is paint the lights with a 70 percent lacur paint and 30 percent paint, i used black and then do the same on the indicators and refit[I]

Dimma Grill
Basicly unbolt the old grill and bolt on the new one

Next i think ill get a Dimma FuelCap and Vtr Spoiler and Get The O.Zs Fitted, What use think?

SaxSpeed 30th March 2010 22:56

Short Shift
Got short shift done only takes 5 mins, take the linkage out, then pull the nob off, cut 50-60 of the shaft then araldite the nob bk on

Dials
Take the steering wheel of, dismantel the clocks, scan them into the pc, change them, print them out then rebuild

Colour Code
Basicly paint what you like whatever colour you like, going to respray the steeringwheel black again, sticks out a bit much i think.

gotta say judging by what I've just read you've got some skills when it comes to changing/repairing things... not sure about all the things you've done but it's personal taste at the end of the day.

Good luck with it!
