gold mk2 vtr *bad news - broken into, might be going*
 

im putting this thread up for the mrs as she wants one up. She got the car june 2009 an it was on 91k she paid 1200 for it but it had a bent wish bone and a few other bits and bobs that wernt right, after about 3/4 months of ownership the battery kept dying even when she fitted a brand new one, gearbox lost gears and had a massive whole in it and the drivers seat rocked and sqeaked. november 2010 after a trip to milton keynes it started missing really bad and after a check over it turned out the spark plug had been ripped out the head but luckily i was breaking a silver mk2 at the time so i did the headgasket and a top end rebuild on the new head and its all good again. so After alot of money and alot of work she's happy with the car and its all good again now.

the cars currently on 126k and going strong.

mods atm are:

smoked front lights
jewel rear lights(not in pics but are currently fitted)
lowered 60mm all round by wilsy an lea
piper catback exhaust
standard brakes front and rear just drilled and grooved discs

plans:

4-2-1 manifold (from badgersport on here)
supersprint middle section(i think it is anyway) off vtcarl who i recently got my car off.
then thats it really

heres some pictures of it standard up to about 2 weeks ago but as i said its got jewels on it now.








i know it needs tyre shine haha but after a clean

Yeh, i had a atlantis blue corsa but had a C20LET though ;) It's now in essex somewhere i think

i knew it was big block though so i was half right haha ye it was quite low but suited it lol and didn't scrape half as much as the mrs paxo here which is only 60mm crazy lol

yesterday we went down to gojka's off here and handed over the grand total of £130 in return we got something that the car has always needed but kim(the mrs) never wanted as its a vtr not a vts (her car not mine remember) lol but anyway here's a before and after

ill try and get a picture of the rear soon with the jewels fitted

Well today i was bored so i took my wheels off and swopped them with the mrs car and both cars are so much better for it. I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Another Goldy.. Looking nice..

well on tuesday we went to a local scrappy to have a browse and we found a silver mk2 vts so we got a few nice parts from it. we spent tuesday night cleaning them then yesterday i fitted them for her.

then mr gojka off here had a set of mist washer jets for us so i fitted them:



i collected a supersprint middle section from vtcarl off here as he threw it in when i bought my car off him, so i fitted for her but no pics off the car as i forgot to lol but some rubbish pics fitted(notice the nice new clamps haha):




and then a nice pic of it in the scrappy after we loaded her up with parts

on wednesday night i had a busy night i popped over to see badgersport and came away with something that the gold vtr has really needed, anyway i set about fitting it.

Update:

The front disc's had started to warp and needed replacing so we priced up new disc's but they were around £80 for the ones she wanted, so i had a quick look into brake upgrades and was able to get a set of 266mm 206 gti calipers for £28 delivered and a set of disc and pads for £49 delivered so they got ordered and last night i fitted them.

cheers mate not bad for the mrs car ay lol couldn't have her driving around in a standard thing. its called furbers up childs ercall, best scrappy i've been to tbh spent hours just walking around having a look for nice parts lol

bad news:( car might be going bye bye soon, the mrs doesn't know what she wants to do yet but after tonite she will have a decision.

basically the car got broken into the other day and they took the stereo and sub.

not that bad really but its the fact she doesn't want to drive it or even look at it atm.

it will be getting standard interior back in and vtr wheels back on then will either be traded in against a new car (i dont want this to happen) or be sold but it won't fetch much as its only worth about £400 which is a shame as its mechanically good and the shell is clean as tbh.

oh well onwards and upwards i suppose, heres a pic i took the other day of it before all this happened:



been such a good fun car i really hope its not the end of it as id love to be able to give it the love it needs.
