Exhausts ?

hi everyone , new to this website thought id sign up as i got my first car the other day 1.4 Furio and i was just wondering what exhausts do you all have ?
are there certain ones that sound nice but without some stupid chavvy japcan ? if anyone could help me out and post pictures etc that'd be great :D

( sorry if its in the wrong section dont know my way round  )

Where you looking for a back box or a straight through system?

Not going to lie Ive got a peco with a burt tip, and Im not into chavy back boxes but it just sits really nicley in the insert and sounds great.

Powerflow are good but expensive, have a look on ebay relativley cheap

Powerpoo are pants i have one lol!

supersprint, magnex, piper or the kam racing setup seem to be the favoured on here.

AL3X_ 28th May 2011 00:47

Supersprint look wank imo, would much rather have a powerflow where you can choose how you want it. It may not give as much performance gains but a backbox does fuck all anyway.

saxo_singh 28th May 2011 01:38

Did some one say 'PowerFlow'? ;)

Yes it's huge but i don't care, it' a 1.4, used for getting me from A to B not performance :homme:

Morgzc 28th May 2011 01:48

WTF! There is no excuse for that!
Got a Ashley comp backbox on mine, soz for the shit picture.

Jay_Tizzle 28th May 2011 09:04

yeah i was wondering about powerflow , is sportex any good ? also heard people moan about the scorpion setup and saying its too quiet

russh84 28th May 2011 09:28

hey fella ive got a powerflow backbox for sale its 90mm outwardly rolled and the actual exhaust is welded on at an angle so comes out of the bumper straight rather than at an angle if u want to pm me ur number ill send u a pic of it.

Ali123 28th May 2011 10:01

twin power flow exhausts :)

Manu 28th May 2011 11:05

Magnex, subtle and bassy until you push the loud pedal.

is that with straight through and mani ? i want something not chavvy and not really deep bass , on my friends 1.25 zetec hes got like a small exhaust but a big back box if you know what i mean and its like a nice bass but tinny at the same time and it sounds gorgeous but he doesnt know the make :wall:

Wile0ut 29th May 2011 18:49

thats my janspeed backbox on my furio and id recommend it to any1 got a nice note and looks good with the cutout of the bumper.

also if you change your mind and want a japcan ive got for sale lol

SAXO8VYO 29th May 2011 21:22

powerflow are not that nad in all fairness , ive got a powerflow de-cat back on my furio but it came with the car , before i drove the car i was like yeah im gunna get a supersprint/kamracing exhaust but when i got it and drove and heard it i was pretty chuffed and happy does pop every now and again and not too loud in the lower rev range 1-3k

Venns 29th May 2011 22:33

I would buy that Japcan, would sound sweet!

Wile0ut 30th May 2011 18:08

yours if you want it mate pm me

Derbyshire80 30th May 2011 18:23

love my miltek twin monster sounds ace :D

MiniGibbo 30th May 2011 20:53

Pooflow are shit :homme:

Magnex are the most popular or where when I was more into saxo's..

Jay_Tizzle 6th June 2011 20:44

thanks for all the help everyone , i think im going to go for the magnex set up because i got a job recently at dominoes ( dont laugh they pay for my petrol every night including more ;) ) and they said im not allowed loud exhausts because of people complaining and also if im working late and doing a delivery after 12am i could wake people up etc -.- and from whats been said magnex are subtle and quiet until you hammer the revs :P might not be everyones taste but i have to live with it :/ otherwise id have it de-catted and waking the dogs up from the other county if i had a choice lol xD !!

dunno 6th June 2011 21:52

i have a full kamracing set up on mine, decat and all. wanna get a 4-2-1 manifold but even without it the bloody think sounds epic and pops and bangs like the clappers!
I love it!

Vtr_Cam 6th June 2011 22:11

I have a supersprint 2" race system, got a manifold on the way to decat. pretty quiet with thecat on and not to big.

I worked in dominos as a driver and they never said anything about that. some people who worked there had insanly loud exhaust, but i suppose it depends.

saxoclarke 6th June 2011 22:19

i have dual something exhuasts ( not at all loud ) and with straight thru and 4-2-1 mani will pop and all that beeswax :)

Jay_Tizzle 6th June 2011 23:37

i did want something raspy when you hammer it but dominoes are gay so id have to have something that doesnt really make noise till about 3k revs or over :/

vtr-djpacker-vtr 6th June 2011 23:58

Dont know why everyone seems to hate powerflow so much, iv got a powerflow back box with sportex centre section to cat and its a nice droney sound, not too loud but just right imo. I love it!

If your after something raspier sounding i wouldnt choose powerflow though as far as im aware they are mostly a deeper droney sound but i suppose as they are custom made this could be varied

because you can buy an exhaust designed to get you an increase in power for the same price..

underdosed_420 7th June 2011 09:01

This is my sportex 3"

vtr-djpacker-vtr 7th June 2011 11:04

But its not guna make a huge difference in terms of power gains when you are only doing the rear end of the system anyway.

In all fairness i wouldnt justify spending 200+ quid on a powerflow back box brand new but i got mine second hand and in good as new condition for less than half that price

saxoclarke 7th June 2011 17:49

my exhaust is quiet untill 3500 odd revs then it becomes pretty raspy

Jay_Tizzle 29th September 2011 09:20

i ended up getting a backbox , its a 3inch can if you like , a bit chavvy but i was desperate for noise instead of the car screaming at me and only cost £20 so :/ budgets tight but ill get a full system when i save up :P

Mine was deep with a cat back system, straight through centre and powerflow rear....still not exactly loud either, since fitting a 4-2-1 decat mani its a fair bit louder, deep and burbly when idling or cruising, soon as you plant it it turns to a loud rasp, not too farty though.

Does depend on the engine and the rest of the system to what sound you get, ive got a magnex but its stupidly raspy with a decat & 4-2-1. My mates had a really deep tone to it when he had cat and standard mani also 8v

some people say its chavvy but its very similar to mine and i like them.. they fit perfect into the bumper recess.. :y:

Stuart85VTR 30th September 2011 23:35

Magnex, nice and subtle until you flex your toe lol
