Help with next car choice?

hello there :)

I'll soon be selling the Fiesta ST and be looking for a new car, and due to the market being HUGE I was wondering what are my options and what do you guys think is best...

The requirements:
• has to be 4door (this isn't debatable)
• has to be fast (sub 7seconds)
• has to be low(ish) miles
• has to be reasonable to insure :p
• diesel or petrol
• priced no more than £3,000

let me know what you come up with :y:

Accord type r

Viper 18th August 2011 16:53

Out of interest why below 7 seconds 0-60? Is it a number you pulled out of your arse? lol

Also when do you ever actually do 0-60 on a road?

Accord isn't a bad idea.

No you daft twat :p lol ... it's just a figure to aim for to stop people saying stuff like a crappy vectra or even worse a mondeo. My ST is 7.9 so want something a little quicker. No-one does 0-60 on a road nor track but it's just a way of saying something a little faster as people won't want me to bore them with figure lol.

Accord type r is quick but rather old looking :n:

Jay_ 18th August 2011 17:05

I do 0-60 alot on the roads.....I am Traffic light king on the IOM.

Under 7second 0-60, with low miles, for under £3000? Is that even possible?

well the mg zr 1.8 160bhp vvc does it in 7.4 i think or 7.6 or something, and you can pick them up for under 2 grand.

i know its slightly over 7 seconds but its great value for money.

its great to know, that some people actually have a tad bit of fucking sense when it comes to buying a car.

id rather give 3k to a fucking crack whore, then buy an MG ZR!

Ashleyp 18th August 2011 19:35

I don't mind them personally, although i couldnt see myself owning one.

4doors can GTF anyway. 2 doors or walk. lol

quick, new looking, low miles, 4 doors - all for £3k. the OP is deluded.

whats soo good about them?
slow, ugly, expensive, unreliable, common, waste of space . . .

seats feel like shit
interior is so dull and annoying, aswell as looking and feeling super cheap
it lacks, the ability to put a smile on someones face.
gear changes are horrid!
nothing about them is smooth, fluid, soft, ... anyhting you look for in a car.

even the sound of closing the door, sounds cheap and tacky.

MG ZR is a car that can be had for around £1k.

Thats why i wouldn't be looking at them if i had £3k to spend.

Tontsy 18th August 2011 19:44

as much as id hate to say it, but you could get a nice bimmer for that kind of money.

and you'd be silly not too.

Ashleyp 18th August 2011 19:51

Early E46's look wank, but if you can get past that, you have a whole host of decent motors to chose from.

bearing in mind were on a saxo forum, the 105 is roughly on par with a vtr, and the 120 is roughly on par with the vts.

there roughly the same price as the saxos.

there no more unreliable than a saxo infact there more reliable if there looked after.

there a much more solid car than a saxo

far better built than a saxo

engines are better than the french engines (aslong as uprated head gasket is fitted)

much more fun to drive than a saxo as you can actualy go round corners without wondering if your guna full off the road.

so they are better than a saxo in general.

Either your saxos an absolute shitter, or you can't drive.

Have you even driven any of the cars you have mentioned?

An MG ZR will out handle a saxo?
