Any other Saxo owners feel targeted by police?
Hi I was just wondering if there's anyone else on here that feels targeted by police, just because of the fact that they own a Saxo, or is it just me? Any opinions or stories appreciated.
|
Drive like a dick and you will get pulled. I never got stopped once in my saxo and I had that for a year.
|
Nope, I've only ever been pulled over once and they were fine with me, that was when I was learning to drive as well. If you don't act like a dick to them or drive like a twat they're fine IMO.

What were you pulled over for?
I never got pulled in mine, sure you weren't speeding or driving like a dick? |
I've never been pulled over in my Saxo, so no I've never felt targeted.
|
Just did a breath test lol, but no. Only been pulled once before but i dont think it was down to the car.
|
Nope.
Had my car now for nearly 11 months and haven't been pulled once... |
People will see an increase in being pulled over at the moment anyway due to the drink driving campaign with it being close to christmas
|
Having owned three Saxo's and a 106 GTI, I have only ever been pulled over once.....and that was in my old Vauxhall Nova :)
A Saxo driver will always be targeted by police because statistics show that that the car and/or the driver is more likely to be dangerous. Don't like it, buy a car not synonomous with boy racers! |
Was never pulled over in my Saxo. To be honest, I think the police pull over anyone driving like a dick, regardless of their car.
|
ive been pulled twice the in last 4 month and breathalised both times. always been on a night drivin home though about 11 oclock. i was drivin a 57 plate focus for a good year and half before got the vtr and never got pulled once in it. i dont drive like a dick either. notice i get a lot more shit off other drivers if im overtaking or something not like in the focus.
|
I got pulled twice in the saxo. Once for a faulty break light and the second time for having french pressed plates which was my fault and not the car.
Got pulled last month in the a3 as i was apparently serving on the road, but as the sumps inches off the floor and told him i was avoiding pot holes he said 'good one, never heard that one be honest' so after a breath test reliased i was telling the truth. |
The Police can and will pull over anyone they want... Dats jus ow dey roll!
They do tend to pull over modifed or "boy racer" cars though. |
Yes i was accused of doing an armed robbery for parking near the scene, Even tho there was many other cars there.
Was followed by 6 cop cars and armed response unit. enough said. |

Got pulled a few times in my Saxo but I was driving like a dick  Since i've got rid of the saxos / 106's ive never been pulled :A: |
nope. only been pulled twice in my 6 years of driving and one of those times i was driving my mates corsa. the second time i was in the saxo and got pulled for not having wheel trims... :wall:
|
i got pulled once in the time ive owned a saxo/saxos and thats because i put my private plate on and it didnt show up on my insurance.
then i told them i had traders and they insisted to look over my car to find something wrong lol, told me the way my rim was out of the arch was illegal but the tyre was under the arch.. |
I've had a saxo for 5 years and also had a fiesta for 6 months.
Been pulled in a Saxo twice & the fiesta once... I was driving like a dick on all 3 occasions. |
I mainly asked the question as in 2 years of owning my first car (a Clio), never got pulled, also been a full time van driver for about 2 years doing thousands of miles, never been pulled in that but had a Saxo for about 9 months now and must off been pulled atleast 9 or 10 times now for loads of different reasons.
It probably has something to do with me though but I'm generally suprised with everyone roses opinion though |

yeah i get stopped quite a lot. ive only had the vtr for about 4 months and been pulled 4 or 5 times and been brethalysed once and the guy even asked me to get my phone and open my messages as i was "swerving" and he thought i may have been texting... even though me and my passenger didnt think i was (may have been subconsciously avoiding potholes ha!) but anyway i never got stopped once in my vectra which i drove for a year. seems odd really that i get stopped more in a smaller less powerfull cheaper car and then they leave you alone in the big powerfull things. so id agree that saxo owners are targetted a bit.
|
ive never been pulled in 2.5 years of owning a saxo or 106, and i drive like a dick pretty regularly :y:
|
Haven't been pulled in a year of owning my saxo. Then again theres this one who drives an unmarked skoda who likes to try and get people to gun it. I pulled out in front of him with massive room between me and him and he zooms right up my ass. Anyways you drive like a dick you attract a lot more attention from not just the police but other road users.
Another thing not too sure if this is right so someone correct me if i'm wrong but don't they have to have a reason to pull you? |

I get followed quite alot (pretty obvious they are following me, as i take them the long way round instead of the short way just to see if they are)...once they realise I drive pretty sensibly they get bored...doesnt help having limo black tints and some stickers on the rear window, its like a police magnet!

Been pulled twice in 2 1/2 years.
Once in my Golf, once in the Saxo. I was pulled the first day I was on the road in my saxo.. My own fault though, I had a front number plate that was 1/2 the size it should be.. Just said ' I'll give you a week to sort it out, if I see you again then i'll bum you' They werent his exact words, but it was similar. |
got followed for about ten minutes yesterday from CID
was pulling out of a junction with a van parked on the corner blocking the view, dickhead copper comes round and as im edging out we meet, i reverse back and he gives me the evils, i pull from my junction and toodle off, but seen him do a sharp u before i did....knew what was coming. follows me EVERYWHERE through burley, which is lots of small streets so i knew it wasnt coincidence, only stopped when i pulled in at a garage, coincidentally, two minutes later, a panda with blue's & two's was at the garage, but i had already burned off haha. it's long, but yeah sometimes i feel aggrieved driving a saxo. |
Only been pulled once but that was in my dads fiesta, never been pulled in my saxo.
|
I feel police do pick on certain cars in some ways, not just saxo's, other cars too that they assume to be " chavy ", and think that something might be wrong with them or the driver, me and my mates get pulled a fair bit, But if your driving properly and within the law then dont let it bother you.. i like the banter we have with police when they pull us and its all fine.
|
Have been driving a saxo in some form or another for 6 years now. Never been pulled in the VTS, I get more hassle from everyday drivers. Seems odd, I stick to 30 mph and I get people driving up my arse and taxi drivers flashing me. Pisses me off royally but not enough to make me sell up.

Only been pulled once in 3 years of driving saxo.. Because I was drink driving, and tried sneaking down a side street.
Would of been pulled / banned 2 more times, but they didn't catch me. :detective: |

What happened when they caught you? |
never been pulled over/looked at with suspicion in my saxo
so no, don't feel targeted! |
Was never pulled over in my Saxo, well not that i can remember..
|
Fuck the Police.
Thats what NWA would do anyway. |
Never been pulled in the saxo.
Got pulled in the commodore in aus because he thought I should of had P plates displayed and was in a v8 when i shouldn't of been but i had an open licence so was al gravy. Got pulled in my clio, funny story about that - a few members may recall but cba to explain right now. TBF police are wankers (imo - fuck off moke before you open up nt in the mood) What i dont see, is that some that spends a lot of money on their car is obviously not going to want to lose their licence or wreck there car and drive a lot so obviously are pretty condient on the road, yet most accidents are from imcompatent drivers . |
