Hewsly's Alpinweiß E36 328 - AcSchnitzer parts

I recently joined this site as i work long boring hours and dont do much but have a computer! Saw a few BMW's on here as i used to have a saxo and saw this site email address in the window of one and im amazed at how active it is!

Anyways here is my e36 328 Mrep.

131k on the clocks
Full cream leather interior that needs cleaning
standard exhaust system
Msport rep alloys in grey
HID's
Alpina numberplate surrounds
Cheap coilovers which need replacing ideally and highering as too low for me.

Bought it from a guy in birmingham which took me 2 hours to get it.

Ordered a M50 manifold for it from an AC schnitzer car which is pretty rare which im lead to believe i plan to make it into a ACS replica M. I have a few parts coming and ready to be installed very soon - Spacers, top mounts, gearbox mounts, gearbox links and the PAS tube needs to be replaces as it leaks.

nicole_ 15th December 2011 17:02

that shape actually looks okay in white :) normally not a fan
cant believe your interiors meant to be cream lol

Simon0014 15th December 2011 17:03

I like it a lot!! The rear needs to be raised up a bit more but the front looks perfect! Awesome colour as well.

Not a fan of the wing mirrors though, I prefer standard 328 ones not the m3s

:P haha yes its very very dirty. Got some auto glym leather cleaner and balm and when im off for crimbo im going to whore out the interior and make it presentable. Yes i agree e36 are very ugly without an M kit.. okay in some colours in an M kit but in white it really sets the E36 off :).

baker556 15th December 2011 17:04

Normally don't like this shape think there chavtatic in yellow.

However this looks uber smart !

Yes the rear is horribly low, the coliovers are stupid wanted to slap the bloke for thinking that looked good, its so impracticle and also the coilovers on the front are not only not set at the same height as the other side they hit the alloys :panic:. The wing mirrors are very hard to see out off... the normal ones make the e36 look speckial imo lol.

Oh in the dakhar yellow? saw a smart one the other day but it was very clean and very OEM.

Thank you. I dont plan to do anything exterior wise, and really like the subtle spoiler its got. Only exterior thing is to put the ACS sticker on the back quater near the back wheels.

LSOfreak 15th December 2011 21:13

i quite like it that low tbh

Lewis 15th December 2011 21:32

That's simply beautiful. Leather looks like an old man's ball sack though

Cream is an individual colour and very yellow.

timmythechef 15th December 2011 21:48

Is it better than your gibbo? :)

wassy78 15th December 2011 21:58

*silver.

Black leather vaders would look good but only if he got the full black plastics. Black seats and grey plastic look shit.

wassy78 15th December 2011 22:03

No grey silver is when it's clean :)

Hewsly 5th January 2012 15:58

Photo of the new springs on the coilies

Some AC Schnitzer trim :D

Subtle stickers

Then because it was .......

Yes the airfilter does look gash i know! came with the car! Dave F are expensive for an airfilter! I'll ask at RAW im sure they'll have something knocking around i can swap for!. Do you mean you have a real one or another rep? I thought it was a bit strange becuase it does quite fit and looks like it should clip in again but it doesnt!

Thank you, yes iirc german tax laws dictated the more restrictive manifold. I think its around 180bhp std and the M50 mani will get it to around 200bhp give or take depending on other mod. At the moment though i have only noticed increased fuel consumption becuase i need an OEM BMW cam postition sensor as its throwing everything out atm. So its not got its full potential. I have the sensor coming tomorrow so i will comment on here how much of an increase there is :)

the 328 is 192hp to keep in with the stupid tax bracket. the m50 let adds a genuine 20hp when matched with the bbtb.

323 was the same.

Still gives it the nice ACS edge though :P. Nah it didnt come with a heat shield! Oh was it 192! I dont have the BBTB with it though so im not sure what i'll get out of it!

Hewsly 8th January 2012 16:34

Right big update!

As said previous was having massive trouble with putting the power down and the overall efficiency of petrol consumption.

We first of all thought it was the none OEM BMW sensor we had put on so we ordered a new BMW sensor and installed that but something still wasn't right my mech went and tested it and he then believed that there was still something wrong. So we said right let's just give it a massive service.... Best off the cuff idea I we've ever had! The car is relatively new and I haven't checked the engine for service since I bought it! Silly I know but if it runs seemingly fine why check and I bet most of you had done so! So we ordered 7l of oil, new fuel filter, oil filter and 6 spark plugs super duper ones according to the box lol. When I say it was the best thing I've ever done, the fuel filter when we emptied it into a empty coke bottle, it seemed to fill up again! But it was coke! Just filthy fuel! Something was very wrong and no doubt been in the car since 1993 lol. Now dispite the overhaul in service it still has a little flat spot sometimes when accelerating in high rpm :( which I have narrowed down to now either mass air flow sensor, the adaption value need resetting so the new manifold and service all run in unison or worst can scenario the vanos is shagged! The petrol consumption now is noticeably better! Which I am chuffed about! And I got some vaders :D a bit shagged but nothing dye won't fix! :D

Hewsly 8th January 2012 16:40

MiniGibbo 8th January 2012 16:52

Christ those vaders have seen better days..

If you go to maplins they sell a spray cleaner you can use on your maf, mine had a flat spot when I cleaned my Dave f and put too much oil on it..

Yes much better days, only playing 120 for them and in installments from my mate lol. So when I get them cleaned up and dyed the whole set will pay for its self if needs be!

Yeh I was looking into it and I need some cqc cleaner or something saw some tutorials but apparently I have the "barn door". Maybe the M3 and evos had the type I was watching the tutorial for! I think it's more than likely the problem now she runs so much better now after all the parts that have been replaced etc! Just a few flat spots when foot is floor mid/high rpm. Also kangaroos a tiny tiny bit if my foot is a certain position in low revs. I hope it's that MAF sensor if not it's either adaption valvues or if not its gotta be the vanos :s :wall:

Hewsly 13th January 2012 17:17

Right another update - I ran over a freakin nail in a car park and it cost me £90 for tyreland to come replace it :(

So i was upset at work and thought i know how to cheer myself up! and £350 later i had bought so sexy type 2 ACS alloys in dark grey silver (ish) and two spare firestone tyres for my up coming track day. I also have purchased new door handle surrounds and a front grill ACS badge all to be put on soon!

Also a screen shot of the orginal broucher for the ACS on the e36. I had alot of haters on e36coupe saying its not possible but it is ;) haha

More photos when the alloys are on!

Hewsly 16th January 2012 14:58

So got them today! And also got the new badge one -

Hewsly 16th January 2012 14:59

Quite like this, all nice choices so far I think!!
Good work

Simon0014 16th January 2012 16:13

Coming along nicely. New wheels look very smart with the white paint!!

I think the front needs to be a tad lower and I'm not a fan of all the AC labels everywhere. Perhaps one or two but there is too much branding if you get me? My least favourite AC badge is the one on the kidney.

It has 4 badges, one on each side. and yes i agree with the front, it was too low but now its too high lol.

Oh right I thought it had more than that, its probably because all the new parts interior and engine bay are AC so my mind has seen it written on a lot of pieces haha.

Yeah getting the height just right is a right faf, takes a lot of fiddling to get it how you finally want!

Yes the manifold is genunine and says it, the alloys are genuine, the handbreak is a rep although very well done, the glove box panel and the badges ovi. I love the whole idea of it! Beemer scene love ACS, adds a bit more value than a bog standard M rep etc!
