53 Saxo VTS - End of an Era RIP

As most know i have a 1.0 16v Micra...

Re-birth of my old 1.1i Saxo imo. RIP. :D

So after weeks of searching and many debates on what to get i came across this totally standard VTS with FSH ETC so went to view it asap. It was up for £1500 but i had no intention of paying that. ;) I paid in the end £1350.

16/1/2012
Day i went to look at it;

18/19/1/2012
2 days later i picked it up;

Plans;

Fit the Supersprint 2" that i had on my old Saxo.

Give the archs a clean, alloys.

Repaint the calipers.

Maybe change the air filter later on. (no not a gay cone a better panel filter).

Give the engine a clean, archs a rinse wash wax etc.

Than enjoy it as it is..

for now..

Too right mate. The back looks crazy high. Car looks clean though. The plans sound good too.

Looks high because most are used to seeing either decked or lowered w.e on here.

Cheers. :hug:

Tidy looking car mate, but as mentioned, looks Hella High at the back! ;)

Cant wait till i get a VTS, maybe September time. Glad you stuck to a Saxo mate.

Jack 19th January 2012 18:51

That looks higher than standard at the back IMO. Looks like a great car though, bargain!

Thanks. Ive have wanted a S for ages but jobless i could do fack all. Work works wonders :D i know ive slagged :homme: them off but i love them to bits tbh. :oops:

Wont be having anymore after this so i thought, why not just get the VTS? quotes came back a few quid cheaper than the 1.0 Micra so i thought it would be rude not to.

has it been raised on the torsion bar?

Why would it be raised? that was a shed VTR parked next to it that looks to be lowered.

I know it looks abit high but it thats the way it is.

69k.

21/1/2012

Fitted the Supersprint today no problems but getting it to sit nice in the recess isnt so nice. So il have ot order new hangers or cable ties which id rather not to this car.

It doesnt sound as raspy/loud as it did on the 1.1. but in a way im really pleased as the Micra at times did my tits in!

Another side view for the folk telling me its too high, looks fine?

Cleaned the engine abit more and the bonnet. Its freezing so will do more of it next week once works over again.

Exhaust;

Before;

Where its been sat has left a mark so im not too chuffed bout that. :thumbdown:

After;

And exhaust size comparing..

Also the std backbox weighs a ton.

The rear is worryingly high. I'd get this sorted out soonish

Give it a good wash and clay then wax it for winter.

rey 21st January 2012 17:20

Just drop it 40mm.

You wont regret it in the slightest.

blackie_2k5 21st January 2012 17:42

chop the tip down on the exhaust too...they stick out miles, ive taken an inch or two off a few of them :)

m11ler 21st January 2012 17:45

That s/s backbox sits in the recess fine, not sure what you're talking about lol. And dont chop it down!

Meh.. If i didnt like the tip id actually get the other tip welded on.

I can see the bumper getting pitted in black stuff from the exhaust. :homme:

Nice to hear its not too loud, what you want. :D

Cheers. :)

Next update during the week will be scraping that shitty red off the calipers back to the metal. :D

Barry123 21st January 2012 19:32

nice one, you've had it less than a week and already but an awful exhaust on it.

Its not had any use really. Was on the old 1.1 Saxo for a month. Didnt feel like wasting any money buying another. :)

Sounds terrible, looks like a pea-shooter.

Only good thing is it's about the right diameter for someone to shag it.
