jeeves_101 28th August 2007 23:26

yeah, they are about £20 in halfords, was tempted to buy one today, but then decided not to.

djmartin 28th August 2007 23:28

yeh steam cleaner and if you have loads of dirt in your engine bay get a compressor and use the dust gun ;).

gets rid of all sorts when u use one of those.

Ben_L 29th August 2007 00:31

Personally I just use liquid degreaser and an old paint brush, then rinse down with ultra fine spray with the hose. Works a treat everytime

James 29th August 2007 02:04

You will probally be better off with a de-greaser man and a bit of time, the reward will be much better.

http://www.cleanandshiny.co.uk/index...d&productId=13 - This is the product i've been using on mine recentlly and I can't fault it. Spray it on, leave for 5-15 minutes and wash off. Brings all sorts up, repeat the process a couple of times and your engine bay will look allot better.

Before

After

Obviousley once it's cleaned you will need to go over any black parts with an oily substance, I use autoglym bumper care and it's worked great. I also heard that WD40 does a good job because of the oils it contains.

CharlieBoy 29th August 2007 16:37

Hey Thanks Guys, Its Not Very Dirty And After I Change Some Things Under There I Will Get To Work,
Maybe A Vilida Super Mop Is In Order, Just To Get Int All The Nooks And Crannies, lol

To be honest mate, I coulden't tell you. It was all done before I got the car (apart from a couple of bits). I bought the car from stevenet15. Give him a pm and he'll be able to tell ya! All I know is that its poseidon blue.

RedB 30th August 2007 14:56

Stevenet's a quality fella

foil or plastic bags mate to cover all the electrics up.

Clone 22nd November 2007 15:50

I would use frezzor bags, but what do i cover anything else apart from ecu and the battery?

Wayne 22nd November 2007 17:33

read this mate http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...es_engine.html this should help.

Clone 22nd November 2007 17:47

thanks mate. Will not let me rep.

RedB 22nd November 2007 18:05

Just realised how cleaning your bay in some of the pics can reveal a new manifold, ECU and other colours and a brace :p

That guide is ledgendary as this gets covered a lot

I personally would steam clean as i find that you still have to dry and wipe everything down after with products and you get the same if not a better job with WD40, strong degreaser such as CG Orange Citrus degreaser just sprayed on left and then wiped down

havit888 23rd November 2007 21:10

tidy vtr engine bay
