induction kit fitting , what to do with breather hose?

fitted my induction kit and theres no-where for the breather hose to go...

what do i do with it :S

Easiest option is to buy a breather filter and pop it on the end.

You could also buy an oil catch tank, feed the oil breather in one side and pop a breather filter on the other.

1st option seems the easiest...

is it ok to start the engine and check if everythings fine with the induction first?

then ill go up to halfords inabit and just buy a oil filter then ...

would this fit on :S

Yerh, you'll be fine for a short drive.

That filter should fit on, or at least be made to fit.

Only thing you might find is that these filters can become saturated in oil overtime and will need replacing/cleaning. But we're talking 12months+.

If you find it is trapping a lot of oil then you may want to look into a catch tank.

that ripspeed filter is too small for the rocker cover, it can be forced on though. just pull the tubing off the rocker, unplug it from the inlet and then the end of that breather pipe should unclip leaving just one end you can plug back into the inlet, pop breather onto the rocker and youre done

I got this problem as end of breather pipe dont fit onto induction, and i couldnt find a filter that will fit? Do you have to take the original end of for it to fit? Its got like a yellow clip...

iirc the K&N pipe has a pipe for the breather to go into in the hose.

carllo69 2nd December 2009 18:55

Is it bad for the engine having the breather pipe going nowhere?

Jim-Bob 4th December 2009 23:24

Anyone know the diameter of the hose/outlet?

Sorry for the hijack.

its 19mm someone said further up right?

rich112 5th December 2009 09:16

Won't pass mot with pipe letting the oil out. Just measure the end and go on ebay for a breather filter the sam mm. Straight fit if right size like I done. Or you can cut that end bit off and jubilee clamp one on.

Matty 5th December 2009 13:09

19mm is correct. Just get a piperx one off ebay, look alright and pretty cheap

EDIT: The 22mm will fit aswel, just put a little jubilee clip on

I'm looking at getting a breather filter for my Furio, im assuming 19mm is the correct size for the furio?

I have a K&N Induction kit so there is a pipe going from the rocker cover to the pipe that the air filter is attached, if i was to buy a breather filter for the rocker cover would it be ok to to put some strong tape around where the hole would be from removing the pipe that leads onto the housing for the air filter? If that makes sense.

Correct size? I would check my engine bay but at this time i don't have access to my vehicle.

look through it and pretend to be a pirate :)

or put it on the original inlet on the slam panel :)
