Suspension clunking.

Clunking sound mostly coming from the right side in the front. Clunking sound appears when going over or going in potholes. I noticed clunking exiting a roundabout where the surface was smooth, so it also clunks when cornering.

The car has to go through inspection in december, i want to fix it or get it fixed by then.

What should i check first?

Check:

Drop link for the anti roll bar.

Lower arm ball joint.

Lower arm main bolt not torqued to spec. Check the condition of the bush here too.

Lower arm rear bolts (you get from the inside) not torqued to spec.

Strut top bearing.

Shock absorber retaining nut.

more often that not it means the shock absorber is shot.

if the car does a 180 in a wet roundabout while at 12 MPH, your shocks are shot ;)
