Joe's Renaultsport Clio 172
Spec @ 23/09/15
Exterior: Renault badges painted black Ford Graphite Grey wing mirrors and door bullets Satin black grille Fogs removed and brake ducts added Snetterton and "Bend the rules, rule the bends sticker" de-wipered Interior: Dash strips painted iceberg silver Sound deadening removal Isofix delete Boot plastics removed Wiper motor removed Passenger undertray removed Chassis: Eibach Pro Kit springs (-15mm) Uprated dogbone mount Vibratechnics drivers side engine mount Brakes: Brembo 280mm discs with brembo pads Engine: Ktec (unsilenced) supersports stealth exhaust Here it is after I bought it First step was to spray the badges Ford Graphite Grey: Since then I've removed the RS badge and sprayed the Clio badge. I also sprayed the alloy diamonds as well. and bought a car cover: Only job left to do short term is purchase and fit a new exhaust. Standard backbox is going rusty and will probably fall to pieces soon. Will probably go for a full ktex stealth system with centre silencer. Future plans: Camber bolts and shims, laser alignment and some sort of recliner seat as im using it as a daily |
Sprayed my rear bumper plastic slot satin black and also my front grille. Only got pic of rear but will upload them together soon. Looks so much better. Now just mirrors to spray, fog surrounds and lower grille and also fabia splitter when I get round to ordering one.
Just purchased a ktec/janspeed stainless cat back system with new rubbers as the standard rubbers and also exhaust are basically shagged and the car sounds supercar loud now and the exhaust is hanging low. I think my driving basically finished it off. Decided to go for the unsilenced system as with a cat on its not that loud (85db @4500) |
I like these

They aren't bad. I still think saxo/106 is better as a cheap track toy these are better all rounders though. Parts aren't very expensive some parts are even cheaper than 106' s. Better when the exhaust isnt blowing though!
Front grille...Looks immaculate. |

Also I currently own a 106 and a diesel Audi. Next stop caravan! |
I think the wheels really ruin the look of these, some nice alloys would be a big improvement.

Think I need to de wiper it too. Weight saving and looks :)
On a road car thats holy grail lol Who uses a rear wiper anyways? Just collects dirt round the edges by using it |
multi post please delete mods

Make your own exhaust rubbers with some powerflex poly bits, the standard ones fall to bits in no time. Dog bone mount should be on your list to do too imo
Looks in tidy nick though, must be one of the last 172s on a 04 plate |

Yeah 04's were the last. This should be going for years. I've already told myself that in 60k or so when the engine dies i will get a new one thats how much i like the car. |
Should probably write a wishlist while I remember.
Tyres, ds2500's, braided hoses, camber bolts and shims, whiteline rear ARB, panel filter, and maybe eventually wheels and bilstein b14's. |

these will do 150k+ easy if looked after - there was a guy on CS with a track car with over 174k on the original engine, box and clutch.
