fisheye or not to fisheye

how many of you have a fisher.

ive always wanted one and jsut got a rather hefty tax rebate, so thinking of getting one but not sure if i will use it as much as i think i will.

so if any of you have one, how often do you use it, and do you enjoy using it.

Ryan 1st May 2009 21:51

I use it every week.

And love it like my 70-200L

don55 1st May 2009 21:54

Ryan 1st May 2009 21:55

I'd never use one enough to justify it. Yep it has a unique take on the subject but the shots get repetitive and :bored : very quickly. Hence why I only have an adaptor.

shooting cars in general gets boring after 5mins I find, even with rigs as you are limited to the same angles over and over in most cases.

By an adaptor do u mean something like this? CLICK ME I have been looking at one of these for a while but did not know the quality.

Barry123 8th May 2009 22:39

This is with my dads old fish eye attachment. Please bare in mind it is dark i am using a high ISO and i havent played around with it much so i know nothing about it.

Jungle_Jim 9th May 2009 02:03

dont know if this is any interest to any of you guys, theses are a few pics of experimentation i did as part of some uni stuff, anyways all the pics are just reflections from shooting into a chrome ball (garden ornament) thought you might be interested in the results. obviously if you were using it properly you would shoot at an angle so not to be in the reflection (however in my case i was ment to be in it lol, some crap about human vs nature)

Barry123 9th May 2009 02:12

that's class Jim!

don55 9th May 2009 12:10

jim there shit hot dude.

i tried this once with a chrome boules ball but it was well scratched so didnt work so well.

How I love having a proper fisheye and not having a dodgy attachment :y:

Vignetting and IQ dropping doesnt do it for me personally

Ryan 9th May 2009 14:45

2nd one in jims set really rocks to

danbills 9th May 2009 16:57

You're probably not shooting on a Nikon body but if you are the Nikkor 10.5mm f/2.8 is a great piece of glass :y:
