Lens Flare
 
Hi,

i was snapping away in the garden and when i put them on a the computer i noticed a few of them had some lans flare (think thats what its called)

How do i stop this being on the photos??

here is an example:

yeah use a lens hood - easily found on amazon etc....

Sometimes i think that lens flare works well in a photo...

Doesnt allways solve the issue. My 16-35L has a hood but the optics are known to flare quite easily. Just composing the shot differently can eliminate flare.

dont shoot into the sun, go round the other side of the plant where the sun is falling on it, beter lit subject and no flare.

best thing to do in future is use one of your spare hands to create yourself a Hand Hood lol, just put the hand to the side of the lens until the flare has gone (and hopefully out of sight of the viewfinder). or use cardboard... but it can be used for creative effect rather easily too.
