Gearbox ratios
I wonder what differences the numbers say between a stock 1.6 8v gearbox and a 16v gearbox. Saxo ph1 1.6 8v (89hp) engine.
Found these on the forums, can anyone explain me what the differences are 1587 cc (vtr) 1st===3.417:1 2nd===1.810:1 3rd===1.276:1 4th===1.026:1 5th===0.767:1 rev===2.500:1 final drive===3.765:1 1587 cc (vts) 1st===3.417:1 2nd===1.950:1 3rd===1.360:1 4th===1.050:1 5th===0.850:1 rev===2.500:1 final drive===3.938:1 |

What we call a "VTS" is actually the standard box that comes with the 1.6 16v engine. it's a shorter gearbox because the final drive is shorter. Use something like this http://www.apexgarage.com/tech/gear_ratios.shtml will help |
