How to remove back seats of VTR?

Has anyone removed the back seats and any tips or no-no's when doing it.

also what performance increase should i expect...how much do they weigh?

the bench bit you sit on just lifts out and the back bit not sure on, performance wise, not much iirc they dont weigh that much!!!

but if you're lightening it

spare wheel
rear seats
carpet
rear seat belts and trim
door cards
lighter aloys- such as compomotive's
rear window wiper and motor
passenger window motor and some way of making sure it wont fall down!!!

track car!!!!

The back piece has a metal bracket each side on the floor held on with 2 13mm bolts each side.

Drivers motor you mean. ;) So you dont have to lean over to do the passenger side.:panic:

Yeah, dont expect a world of difference, more noise, and the chance to tell people you cant give em a lift without having to think up excuses.:A:

i did this before it took me about 5 minutes...

go out with a few spanners and it is pretty obvious which ya need to do, i would advise taking off all the small lil brackets under seats etc aswell as it tidy's it up a bit...

one thing i will say is though that the bare metal will make the car very very cold during this time of year... the car will be more noisy however your music will be amplified better....

thats what i noticed when i stripped mine...

it makes the saxo feel a lot more fun ;)

but performance wise mate not much however ya will notice a slight difference if you usual drive round with a great big sub and 6x9's and all that all the time
