Mk1 white vts turbo .... 260bhp - 250 ft lbs

Hey guys, thought I'd get back on here, been hiding a way for a while after finding out my cherry red gti had been crashed.

So went out and bought myself a mk1 vts which to say the least is good one. So just been swapping stuf from the gti to this and a few new goodies

New manifold :)

And as always I'd love your comments :)

Was easier getting it in this one with the seats being out, last time I pick a roll cage up in a saxo looked a right pair haha

Thanks guys, have a little question though, how do I move the alternator lower down ? Something about using 8v brackets I've heard from somewhere ?

My new wastegate will not even fit :(

Gandi699 2nd June 2014 19:24

Just fit the 8v alternator, support bracket to hold it and the crank pulley from an 8v. That's all I think it is?

Mk1 white vts (turbo)

Blackie told me yesterday that you may need to tap a hole or two for the bolts though

Can you not run a 16v crank pulley ? Just as I've got alloy pulleys :/ will have to have a better look at it maybe I could possibly make my own bracket

robster247 2nd June 2014 22:36

Last weeks purchase landed today :)

Enjoy and goodnight :)

I dont think you can as the pulley is different although I didnt really look at mine too closer when I swapped to 16v in all honesty

hey m8, with the charger i am running the lower part of the 8 valve pulley and still running the 16v alloy pulley, i cant see why you cant, it all lines up fine, just instead of the charger bracket you use the 8valve top bracket aswell

like this see

Evening adz, major bump from your behalf . I've currently got all of the turbo on but I'm really concerned at how close the waste gate pipe comes to the black plastic vent kind of thing on the end of the alternator. I'll grab a few photos soon this progress thread is boring haha

I presume the belt will be the same size just running at a lower angle ?

adzvtr 24th November 2015 19:26

what i did to get the correct size belt was used string wrapped it around the pulleys then measured, but i imagine the vtr belt will fit just fine, didnt realise the date lol,

robster247 24th November 2015 20:10

So you did that then just went to like a motor factor with how many ribs and the length ? Or is there more to it ? I also need some help with a few other niggles I have.

1.) how do I go about wiring up the Bosch 044 external pump up ?

2.) do I just time it up to standard timing marks ? Also running ph3 cam, inlet or exhaust forgotten which one

3.) do I just replace the standard map sensor with one which can read positive pressure ?

Sorry to bother you haha

Just a few photos from tonight, just waiting on a few parts to be ordered, few things to be welded up, and a few things to be wired in.

Anybody ever ran a side exit zorst ? You may have spotted a little hole in my bumper haha
