Any Pics Of a Map sensor.

he has no map sensor
just a wire to where the map sensor
would be



hes ecu light is on

could this be the map sensor?

It is the map sensor, when mine wasn't plugged in it played havoc with my warning lights, looked like Regent Street at Christmas.

MAP is short for manifold absolute pressure sensor, it senses the manifold pressure and applies the right amount of petrol with the right amount of ignition timing so the car runs and performs well. If this does not work properly, it throws off the whole loop cycle for the computer, which in turn makes it run badly, and get poor fuel economy.

my mates car
runs fine tho.
and he gets same mpg as me tho.

hes not really bothered about it.

i just asked him why have u got a wire goin to nowere:)

That's the MAP sensor. I have a spare one for a VTR if you need one.
